MOM!

Before I start sharing with you all my Mom's Birthday trip to Denver I have to wish her a Happy Birthday because today if her official Birthday! SO Happy Birthday MOM from Me and my whole Brood!!!!!!!! xoxoxo

I love it when Mom comes every year around her Birthday because it gives us the best excuse to do all sorts of Christmas things around Colorado! We took Mom for her Birthday dinner downtown to Union Station which was decorated so beautiful!

 Then the 3 of us went to see A Christmas Carol the Musical and it was such a fun night full of getting dressed up.... Christmas decor and Holiday Spirit!!!!!!

 The musical was so amazing! We loved every minute of it and even Matt enjoyed it! The sets and actors did such an incredible job, we highly recommend it!

 Mom and I also spent our time shopping, relaxing and seeing movies! Monday night we met Matt out for dinner and then we went to the Denver Botanic Gardens for the walk thru Christmas light displays and we LOVED it!

 It is so fun getting bundled up and walking around seeing all the displays! This tunnel was super neat, the lights changed as you walked thru it!

On Mom's last day we went to the Star Wars Costume display at the Art Museum which included over 70 original costumes including ones from this last movie like Rey and BB8!!

 I mean literally seeing the original Chewie and the famous metal bikini was incredible!!!!! We loved every second of the exhibit!

 Here are just a few of my favorites!! You were also given a headset in which costume designers spoke about the pieces and the movies were playing behind the displays also! Which by the way Matt and I saw Rogue One yesterday and we loved it!!!!!!! The Force was strong in this exhibit!

 And yes, Mom fell in love HARD with Baby Elway!!!! Literally Moms mind was blown the first time she picked him up because he is so gosh darn adorable!

 We had such a wonderful time with Mom here and all my fur-babies LOVE it when their Oma comes to visit! Its always sad for everyone at Casa Savage when she heads home!!!

Last week was my Birthday.. isn't it crazy how fast it comes and goes?? Another one down and Hello 34! The day before my Birthday Matt came home early and clearly interrupted my afternoon viewing of Dr Phil in my PJ's to give me my Birthday gift.......

 I couldn't believe it.... Look how good he did! I didn't ask for anything so this beauty was ALL him! And ya, I guess he is a keeper!

My other Birthday present arrived the day after my Birthday..... AKA... MOM! Her Grand-dogs were so excited to see her.....

 Mom and I as you already saw yesterday did some house recon work and did a little shopping too! Lucky us the rain really held off for us to enjoy some beautiful days!

 Mom, Matt and I went to a favorite place of mine here in Denver Tables to celebrate my Birthday! We had a great time and ate some amazing food!!! I swear I dream of that meal!

Sunday Mom and I went to the Butterfly Pavilion and it was really neat... you can't tell but in this Tropical Rain Forest setting hundreds of butterflies were buzzing about!

We had a great time and it is always sad to say goodbye and I swear my animals are all so depressed that Mom is gone!!!!!

1 Year Annv!

You guys..... I cannot wrap my head around it..... ONE year ago today I officially moved to Denver! This week last year Mom and I made our 6 state journey with our co-pilot Bella from Columbus to Denver!!! One year ago today I pulled up to my Townhouse to see it for the first time, haha!

 1 Year ago I survived the move...... I do miss my home in Columbus, I always will.... I just loved it!

I am not sure if times flies or if it seems like I have been living in Denver for years already.... it's weird.  Happy 1 Year Anniversary to me!

Last weekend my Mom came for her 3rd annual Birthday trip to.... wherever I am living! ha! And as usual we had the best time! It is also a tradition for us to take fun cooking classes at Sur La Table when she visit so last Friday we took a Holiday Brunch class that was so good!!!

 Saturday the 3 of us took a fun painting class and I love how different each of our paintings turned out! And of course... we each hated our own! haha! I love that all of our paintings is just full of snow-animals!

 Saturday night we went to Tables which was named of the Top 25 Restaurants in Denver and OH MY GOD was it ever! Literally the 3 of us wanted to lick our plates! Mom had a wonderful Birthday dinner!

On Sunday we all went to see Exodus the new Ridley Scott movie and I loved it! I thought it was a wonderful telling of the Bible story of Moses! We all enjoyed it a lot!

Over all we all had a wonderful weekend and now this week is back to the grind before the Holidays next week!

'Staycation'

While Mom was here we wanted to not only do all of our favorite things one last time here in Columbus but we also wanted to see a few new things, one being the Diana exhibit in Cincinnati!

 This is the last stop on the Diana Tour before all the pieces retire at the Palace! Yes, we got to see THE Wedding gown she wore which was just unbelievable to see a piece of history like that up close. (I didn't sneak a picture) The exhibit was just a neat experience.......

 This picture is my favorite, I mean it is hard to wrap your head around the fact that the crown is not made of rhinestones but seeing here positioned right behind was really neat.

 The exhibit housed all the iconic outfits she wore throughout the years as well as the pictures of her wearing them. There was also a room devoted to Diana's childhood which was neat to see, I didn't realize she was a Ballerina and had a love for the Ballet.

 They did a great job on the exhibit the only complaint we had was that is was too short, we would have liked to see more. The room devoted to her death was very emotional and surreal.

 That night when we got home we rented the Diana movie with Naomi Watts, and ya it was real neat to watch this after being so close to many of the outfits portrayed in this movie. But.... as a whole this movie is a "Wait until HBO or Cable" type of movie!

Saturday morning Mom and I got up early and had a spa date which we have never done! We even had facials which was a first for us both and we agreed that we could get use to that! haha!

I scheduled us for Facials, Pedi/Mani, chair massage and makeup application........we had such a wonderful and relaxing time!

 Mom LOVED it which was the point after all, it makes me happy knowing I planned something that we fell in love with.

 Mom also enjoyed getting her makeup done............ after this we had lunch and ran some errands around Columbus!

 Mom also got in some prime snugglin with all the boys, they were SO happy to see her!

 We did do a little shopping and I DID get a new Spring/Summer purse with matching wallet! The wallet was from my Mom as a little early Birthday present! Thanks Mom! I fell in love with this bag because Navy/White is very spring/summer and the top handle/color blocking is huge right now! I am not going to use it until we get to Denver........no need to break it out or get it dirty now!

For the Love of Food...

When Mom comes I completely abandon my WW lifestyle because we love to celebrate with food. We love to go to different places, make fun dishes at home and even take a class or two! The few pounds I gained over these past 5 days were worth every bite!!!!

 Last Friday we went to Cincinnati for a little day trip and I found this ultra cool place called Senate. The Chef has won numerous awards and the Yelp reviews on this place sealed the deal! Mom and I had lobster rolls, duck fat fries and too-die-for beneigh's for dessert! So fun!

 Sunday night Mom and I went back to one of the first places we ate when I moved to Columbus the famous Schmidt's Sausage Haus that has been featured on Man vs Food as well as Martha Stewart show! This restaurant has been open since 1886 in German Village here in Columbus! And oh ya, our German food was soo good!

 On St. Patricks Day Mom and I took an Irish Cooking class at Sur La Table and it was so much fun! There were only 4 of us so we really got to be involved in all the steps of the meal! We had Apple and Parsnip Soup, Guinness glazed Salmon with mash potatoes and cabbage braised with bacon and for dessert we had Irish Whiskey Chocolate cake......Man, I am absolutely going to make this whole meal at home for Matt when we move!

Last night for Mom's last meal here we used my counter top pizza maker from Sur La Table and we both made our own mushroom truffle oil pizza for dinner! Mom completely fell in love with this neat gadget as much as I have! Pizza Night!!!!

Man, we ate much more but just writing this post is making me so hungry! Happy Tummies = Happy Hearts!

ICE

It wasn't until recently that I heard the term "ICE" as in "In Case of Emergency" and my ICE is my Mom. In case of emergency, in case of drastic emotional meltdown, in case of the needing of laughter, in case I need to talk to the person who knows me best that is all..... my Mom!
So I have to Thank her for all of that.....even though she doesn't have a choice! ha!
Today is my Moms Birthday and I am sending her big hugs and kisses from Ohio and I will be home to actually give those to her in 2 DAYS!
