Chips for Charity 2012

Saturday night was Junior Hospitality's Chips for Charity which was held at the historic Okc Farmers Market!!! I had a wonderful time and it was the perfect way to keep my mind off the fact that the day before Matt moved to Ohio!

All our draft beer will be provided by Coop Ale Works! There will be gaming, silent auctions, raffles, wine pull and our first ever "Show Me Your Goods" Auction!

Going to the Chapel....

Saturday night Matt and I got all dressed up to go to a beautiful wedding, my friend Sarah who happens to be our JH president got married!
The wedding reception was at the Skirvin which is a beautiful historic hotel downtown!!

The bride was stunning! I told her that since she is tall, blonde, beautiful.....it was like she was made to wear a wedding gown! Here is the bride with my great JH girlfriends who attended the wedding!

We had a great time....the food was amazing, we loaded up on the candy buffet and we had so much fun in the photo booth! This is Sarah and Laci who I adore!

I love weddings don't you? And not just the cake!

Calling all Okie friends.....

Hey Ladies (sorry if I do have any male readers this is for the gals)

Ok......in case you didn't know I am the Junior Hospitality Clubs Provisional Director this year WHICH means I am in charge of your first year in the club. I will make sure it is easy, you get all the information you need and I am here to help you in anyway I can! (I am excited) Something I love is that over the years I have invited several friends who have joined and 2 of them are now serving on the board with me....that makes me smile. It makes me happy to share something I love so much and to have those friends love it also is amazing and NOT just because I invited them!

Well.....our first "event" is coming up at the end of July and this is a game night I plan where any new "potential members" can come for food, drinks and fun! You also get to meet the members, see where we meet and just get a feel for the club. Shortly after that we host a dinner party at our JH Office where we will tell you what it takes, what we do and answer any questions you have before our year starts! I am so excited about these 2 events.

SO.....I want to invite anyone who is interest in JH!! There is NO obligation to join if you come to either of those events and if it is not for you... no biggie, I have several friends who have done that in the past. I joined JH on a whim and I didn't know anyone ...I am so blessed I joined. I would love to answer ANY questions you have about our club! I am currently gathering information on girls who want to join and adding them to the invite for July! So I would LOVE to meet my blogger friends and make you my real life friends! Before I go here are a few things about JH....
* We are a woman's service organization who has been around since 1934
* We volunteer monthly (you don't have to come to everything)
* We raise money by selling our Famous Subs in the fall and hosting Chips for Charity in the spring.....all the proceeds goes toward our non-profit partner for the year! We have given out over 2 million dollars since we started!
* We meet only 1 night a month and we always have dinner ready for you at our meetings also!

That is just a brief over view! SO Ladies, I hope you consider this I would love to share something I love so much with all of you! I hope to hear from some of you soon!

Weekend Wrap Up

So this weekend I had to put the funeral and family stuff aside because it was the JH Board of Directors Retreat. This is the weekend we plan the upcoming year, get to know one another better and I didn't want to miss. Friday we meet at our JH office to set the new years calendar before we headed to Norman and checked into our hotel. Friday night we went to the Moore Warren to watch Super 8 in the balcony! I loved that it was picked for our Friday night outing.....someplace I love so much!

Super 8 was magical!!!! This movie was a love story of sort to the 80s.....Goonies meets ET!!! The movie was set in 1979 and yes, it was about an Alien. This movie was suspenseful, funny, heartfelt and touching. It literally had everything you could ever want in a movie!! The kid actors were amazing, I was mesmerized by each of them! So if you can't tell I LOVED it and you MUST see this movie!

Saturday morning after a yummy Embassy Suites breakfast we all headed to the board room to get started. We worked from 8 until 5 where we all present and discuss our ideas for the coming year! It isn't as bad as it sounds.....I enjoy it!

Here is Sarah our amazing President, she did a wonderful job planning our retreat and I look forward to the coming year!

Saturday night is our night to kick back and unwind.......we had a private room reserved (Seven47) called the "vault" which was good because we were LOUD! It is so funny when you get a group of women together with no husbands or kids......we turned into the kids! CHEERS!

Ok, so we acted liked teenagers (don't judge)......here is Sarah showing off after she won the "I can knot a cherry before you can" game! Oh yes, that happened! And she is talented! LOL

And here is Summer as we played "Winston Roulette" (don't ask) so your gonna die....this game was SO fun......everyone pulls up the same phone number on their phone (we picked JH members) and then we all hit send at the exact same time and whoever gets thru WINS! LOL...........uh, yes people thought we were crazy but it was too die for!

When we all went home on Sunday there was no rest for me..... Matt and I headed out to Mickey Mantles for a Destination Wedding reception. (Congrats Nick and Leslie) Below is my friends Allison and Kaylyn looking beautiful as always!!

Here is Matt and I after a LONG long weekend! You would of thought I would of slept like a baby Sunday night but that didn't happen! Sometimes you just can't shut off your mind!

And here we are at Tuesday already.....I trying to am catch up on work and the housework that is piling up! Hope you all had a nice weekend too!

MEGA Monday....

Are you all ready for what I have in store for you? A Mega Monday post to catch everyone up on where I have been and what I have been doing the past 3-4 days!!!! I am going to start off by giving you 2 movie reviews....yes, I saw 2 this weekend! HA

First up FAST FIVE..........let me tell you...I LOVED this movie! I am not like super into this series or anything but I have seen them all (and yes, Tokyo Drift was the worst movie ever) and this one TOPS them all! I love that "The Rock" is in this one, he is the perfect addition to the group. This movie is full of non-stop action and it has such a clever story line! I loved this movie...........

 Next up Bridesmaids I went to see with my mom and Becky.......... I will say this is R and it is as raunchy as you would think but it is also laugh out loud funny! The cast is amazing and Kristin Wiig is hilarious as the reluctant Maid of Honor. You must grab some girlfriends and see this movie!!!

Let's now back track to last Thursday.......I volunteered with a few of my JH ladies at one of my favorite organizations The Foundation for the Disabled. You can see by the sign that JH has a long standing relationship with the amazing group........

 Thursday was their annual Prom dinner and dance the theme this year was Mardi Gras!!! We served dinner, mingled and watched everyone get their groove on!

 Here is a snap shot of the group, it really is nice to be a part of a night that is so special to so many. Anyone or group can volunteer by serving dinner at the Foundation if you would like more information leave me a comment and I can get your information on how you can help!

 Saturday was my Sister-in-law Colby's High School graduation from Edmond North......a day we were excited to be able to share in. Here is the class of 2011 all 560 of them.....

 After graduation we all went to lunch then came back to Matt's parents home for cake and opened presents!!! Matt's extended family was in town for the occasion so we used the opportunity to get some family pictures! It was such a fun day spent with so many people I love! Congrats Colby........she is now off to hair school, GOOD LUCK!

 Sunday was a VERY special day for OKC......it was Game 7 in the second round of the NBA playoff and we were tied 3 games each with Memphis! Here is Marissa and I so excited and ready for the game and we thought the Thunder needs like a hand signal......so we have dubbed the thumbs up.....THUNDER UP! lol...Do you think it will catch on? If so you saw it here first folks!

 The buzz downtown was electric!!! People were tail gating, bands were jamming and so much more! This game was the BEST sporting event I have ever attended....I literally gave ALL my energy to the team and when I got home I was beyond tired!

I have something VERY special for everyone..............The THUNDER killed it and we are now one of the TOP 4 teams in the entire NBA!!! Next up is the Western Conference Finals vs the Mavs and we are so excited, it starts Tuesday night in Dallas! The video below is from my IPhone and is the last 5 seconds of the game and right after.....you can hear how loud it was but imagine being there................

Well guys, I had a mega busy weekend and I am trying to get back into the groove of the work week......Happy Monday!

Chips!

Picture Overload is upon us.......
First of all look at my nails!! LOVE them....now were they easy? Not so much! It took me about an hour but the end result was worth it!

Saturday during the day was Chips set up........it is so nice to see all our hard work pay off.....Here is the wine pull which I worked all night! We sold 115 bottles of wine at $10 a piece! A nice added bonus for our Grant money! All the proceeds goes toward The Bethel Foundation to help single mothers!

Look at these centerpieces!!! A local florist donated them, I thought they were great! Perfect for our fun Vegas night!

Here is my "team" .....we wrapped each bottle of wine over the past few weeksn and for $10 you get to pick one....you can land a $10 bottle or up to a $70 bottle! It is a game of chance!

Here is just one of the auction items, we had over $22,000 in products, trips and experiences donated! I wish I would of gotten to go home with something! boo

Matt and I! What sucks is you can't see my awesome earrings! I should of worn a necklace instead....should of could of would of. You like my $19 dress? I was so proud to be wearing such a bargain!

This is my dear friend Jennie and in her belly is Connor who will be here next month! Can't wait to meet him!

Lacey, Susan and I.......all JH gals wear boas so if you have questions of anything you know who to ask! Where is mine? Well, I cheat a little bit.....they are just so hot!

Oh yes.......we had "Showgirls" this is a Vegas night after all! I LOVED them.....they even put on a drag show that was a HUGE hit! We had a Lady Gaga and a Diana Ross! hahaha

These two girls (Lindsay and Natalie) I work with and they are so much MORE than work friends! I call us the "3 Amigos"......

Oh ya, work it work it.....Becky and her hubby Tony..I will use this to blackmail Tony one day! "Everybody clap your hands...."

We had an amazing food buffet and all beer was included in the ticket price also! The food line was so long, glad I was first in line (go figure)

My great friend Allison and I!!! I invited her to join JH 2 years ago and I am SO glad she did!

Well guys...it was an amazing time! And I am stilled pooped today!! And you will not believe this...my thighs are so sore from working the wine pull....putting bottles on the table, under the table....etc! So pathetic I could barely make it up and down my stairs at home yesterday!
