9 Years Strong

 9 years, I mean WOW! And this Christmas Day it will be 11 years that we have been together. Sometimes it seems short and other times I literally cannot wrap my head around the fact that we have been married for 9 years TODAY! As you know this year has been tough, I mean really rough. We did get to travel over the Summer which was so much fun but other than that this was a year full of hardship.  But I am so proud of us that we made it thru, a lot of couples do not make it thru infertility and a final diagnosis like ours. And you know what..... this card was the most perfect card I have ever given Matt...........

9 Years is Leather which is really a perfect representation of our marriage:

I knew immediately what I wanted to get Matt but getting it wasn't super easy! His favorite Cardinals player of ALL TIME is Ozzie Smith, the Wizard. And you all know me... I like a challenge and I found it........

 Matt was beyond shocked and excited that his "leather" gift from me was an authentic Ozzie Smith autographed baseball! I was so excited to give this to him and it took him a few minutes to wrap his head around the fact that this was REAL!!!!!!
I say it a million times on here... my love of gift giving and my gift of being good at it ... it's so selfish really, because I feel SO GOOD when I find the perfect gift and make someone happy!

 I also wanted a more thoughtful gift so I found this Wish Jar. Matt and I are going to write our wishes going into our 10th year of marriage and next year on our 10th anniversary we will open it back up, read it and see what we have made come true. Positive wishes is really what we need right now.

Happy Anniversary my Matty, making it 9 years is such an accomplishment with everything that has stood in our way over the years. And I will say it over and over there is no one else I would rather fight with. I love you!

True Love

Do you ever read something, see something or hear something and a lightbulb goes off in your head? Not an idea lightbulb but that something opens up a light in your heart or mind? I know that is very vague but this song did that for me. I love Pink, I have seen her in concert and I like her marriage. Why? Because she is real, honest and open. There are so many types of marriages out there and something different works for everyone...aint' that the truth!  When I heard this song below in Kohl's (weird) I literally stopped and this song spoke to my heart. It was like Pink opened my head and literally took how I feel and put it into words. Now........... To some this song might be negative but not for me AT ALL. And I can say that Matt would say the exact same thing from his perspective. When I hear this song, it is a love song....it is a love song that is honest and it comes from a really good place. I have told Matt before that the reasons I am so "passionate" in fights or why I get so mad is honestly confirmation that what we have is True Love. If I didn't care then that is the bad scary place that should alarm you. Take a listen........

Fabulous Five

Matt and I had a really nice weekend we celebrated our anniversary the night before on Friday by going to eat at Smith and Wollensky. We always pass this steakhouse when we are shopping in Easton and we finally had a reason to check it out! This is also the place in the movie The Devil Wears Prada since the original is in NYC. Saturday was low key we went shopping, watched the **sad** OU game and went to see Argo. I LOVED Argo, the story is so intriguing I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. I think that Ben Affleck has a gift when it comes to telling stories (he starred, produced and directed). You should go check it out.......

So Matt brought home take out and when I opened the sack this is what I found..............OMG right?

 I have never seen this blue box before and I was over-joyed!! Look what he picked me out......Silver "Pearl" necklace and matching bracelet! It is perfect and I loved that Matt picked it out himself, it's the perfect sentimental gift to always remember our 5th Anniversary!

 So I got Matt 5 gifts, 1 for each year. I got this wrapping paper at Target and on the corner of each gift I wrote a "Vow" of sort that correlated to what was in the package! For example:
"Here's to our 6th inning of marriage" - This is a authentic Coach leather wallet made out of the leather used to make baseball gloves and the stitching is also the thread used in MLB gloves!

 This is a new shirt that I got Matt, super cute huh?? This box said "I want to clothe you in Love"

 And his other BIG gift is new boots! I spent weeks searching the web for the best pair that are classic but modern and well made.....so when he LOVED them I was soo happy! Score!

 Another gift is I got us tickets to see the Denver Broncos play the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday!!! Our seats are really good too.....but there is a funny story about these tickets-
I got these on Stub Hub so they were not exactly cheap....they came about 1 month ago and I accidentally threw them AWAY! No joke, I was freaking out.....I was going to have to tell Matt "Hey, I got us tickets but I threw them away and we can't afford to re-buy them" I was a wreck! But thank goodness after 3 weeks Stub Hub was able to get my "Seller" to reprint them and they came 2 days before our Anniversary! Whew! Close call!

Over all it was a nice relaxing weekend, I am sad that it is over and a new week began!

1,825 Days....

 I can not believe that today Matt and I are celebrating 5 years of marriage or 1,825 days to be exact! I mean it is very exciting to hit a milestone like this. In some ways it seems like only yesterday but in other ways it seems like so long ago. Funny how as hard as I try I can't remember the actual day. Weird. I do wish more than anything I could go back and relive this day one more time. I also feel like as I look at the pictures we look so young, on our special day we would have no clue that life would take us away from Oklahoma, I don't think I would of believed it if I was told.

Yesterday in the mail we got the sweetest card from my sister and it made my day. Inside she included some song lyrics with us and she could not have found anything more perfect. In 5 years we have had ups, downs, good times, bad times, laughs, tears, love, fights and I wouldn't want to share my life with anyone else.
