#BabyMakingDays Week 2

Hi Guys!!! First things First.... I want to thank everyone for their kind words, encouragement and excitement since my post last week about #BabyMakingDays! It feels so nice to have such a great support group around us!!

Now, It's week 2 already for the #BabyMakingDays campaign and this week I am going to tell you more about the Clearblue® Fertility Monitor I have been given. I can't tell you how many friends of mine tried more than 6 months to conceive and it is looking like that is our path as well. One of my hopes for this series of posts is that it will help someone and maybe show them a new option to try out in the process of trying to conceive.

I have to say I was surprised at just how "high tech" this touch screen monitor is and after being initially overwhelmed by it, I took the time to read the manual and felt much more at ease. Ya, I am usually not a "manual reader" I am more of a "Trial by fire" kinda girl! ha! (Maybe that is why I am not pregnant yet! ha) #readthemanual

Here is what the screen looks like and it is great at prompting you on what you need to do next. First up was setting up your cycle.

Anywhere from 10-20 days of the month you will test daily. What does that mean? I use the fertility monitor sticks each day the screen tells me to (below, easy peasy). The sticks go into the monitor where my ovulation is tracked.

The monitor will then show you many different screens such as Low, High and Peak! But of course this is the BIGGIE! When I see this I know that today could be "THE DAY"! HAHA!

Using the Clearblue® Fertility Monitor is different, it is very easy to operate and it helps me to feel confident that we are on the right track. I will also say that since we have entered into this whole process of TTC it is quite amazing how complex everything is.

How has TTC affected our marriage?

Honestly, it's for the better! I think since we started TTC at the end of last October we are more open with one another and heck, you have to be! We communicate more and we actually laugh more.... I mean at times this whole process is pretty comical and you need to just laugh it off. Laugh off the weirdness of it all! ha! I can't be the only one feels that way from time to time, can I? And of course take time out to have fun with one another like this past Monday night we went to the Okc Thunder game vs The Nuggets!

Where to begin my friends, probably with the obvious that The Savage's are trying to have a baby! I know, I know finally after seven years of marriage the time is right! Most people gave up asking us "When are you going to have a baby" after year two and we were completely fine with that and now here we are!

What took us so long? 

The answer is easy, we wanted to be in the best place we could be in our marriage before bringing a baby into our lives. The past seven years have been hard for us with Matt switching careers within Farmers and us uprooting our lives (TWICE) to move across the country. All of that created stress in our lives and in our marriage which we worked thru. We may have fought thru some (or most) of it but we made it! This past year after our move to Denver things just seemed to CLICK for us. We entered into this wonderful, new phase of our marriage and we needed it! 

When did we make the decision to start trying?

We talked about it over the Summer last year and decided that we would make our Mexico Vacation last October (to celebrate our anniversary) the kick off! So I wouldn't count October as a "full month of Trying To Conceive" but we have been trying since then! It's funny how your whole life your goal can be to "Not have a baby" and then when your goal is to have one you just assume it will magically happen over night! Well... it doesn't, so that leads me to today!

How did it come about that I have connected with Fertility Planit?

I was asked to participate in their #BabyMakingDays campaign and talk about some "act of the universe" that we are actually trying to conceive... so it was a match made in Heaven, huh?!

Sharing our #BabyMakingDays journey with everyone is exciting and scary! But I pride myself on being an open book so why wouldn't I share this with you all as well. As for Matt? He is all on board, in fact when I discussed this opportunity with him he was the one who said "Why would you not?"

I am also really lucky to be one of the first people to receive the new Fertility Monitor with touch screen.
