I am filled with Glee!

Ok....Warning....Picture Overload...but this is the last of the vacation posts!
So on Sunday night we went to downtown San Diego and ate at a fancy steakhouse right by Petco Field where the Padres play! I got a glimpse of downtown on the drive......the "Gaslamp" district looks so fun....another vacation though!
Donovan's was so yummy...........I had the most to die for melt in your mouth steak and the creme brulee ended the meal with perfection! Ok ok I am salivating just talking about it!
Here is the family all dolled up and ready to shove our faces with food! Good pick Curtis!
Do you recognize that grey dress below?  I showed you all last week that I ordered it from JCrew...I love it! It was comfortable and flattering (at least I hope it was)! So don't be surprised if you see it again soon in pictures!
Ok now on to the good stuff......I went to Glee Live and I still can not believe that I got to see the cast in person! I mean they are so famous! (Ya ya I am a celeb-lover)
Check out these shirts............ I know so cute! I couldn't decide which one to get but you all know how much I love the Warblers!!! And would you believe that they cost $40, gheesh? I can only imagine how people will look at me when I sport my Warblers shirt....."who is the old lady in the kid shirt?" lol!
So much to my surprise the opening act was ALL dancers and Twitch from Step Up and So You Think You Can Dance was one of them! They were amazing!  The are called the "Legion of Extraordinary Dancers" and it is an online series you can watch it HERE!
Here we are fixing to scream our heads off for the rest of the night.......Cheese!!!
Sue Sylvester opened the show by having her "Cheerios" pass out barf bags in case we hated the show so much we needed to vomit! It was so funny!!
Here is the opening number......Journey "Don't stop believing"!
And you know I loved this number.......here is Britney S. Pears performing "Slave"!! I think Heather Morris is a better Britney than Britney herself!
This was "Fat bottom girls" with Puck and Finn and notice that Finn is on the drums!! They are all so talented.....and Puck rocked it!
Lady Gaga time......the shirts that said things they were ashamed of from the show were for sale at the concert, a ton of people bought them!
Hey there Rachel Berry........."Fireworks"!!! Her voice was just as amazing in person if not better! But oddly she was not my favorite performer of the night!
Speaking of favorites................ I Heart Blaine!!!! The Warblers sang "Raise your Glass" and "Teenage Dream"!! They were soo great and I screamed like a little girl!
We were so close........ we were directly to the side of the stage about 20 rows up!
Quinn is even more pretty in person and here she is singing "Lucky"....kinda neat because I had just watched I am Number Four again before we left! I think she will be a big star!
Mercedes and Santana brought the house down....they may not be a favorite of mine on the show but they were too die for live!
The whole cast singing and bringing down the house.......

This was the last song Queen's "Somebody to love" a favorite of mine! They ended the show with a ton of confetti being thrown into the audience. I shot a ton of videos but after trying ALL morning to upload them.....nadda! Sometimes I hate you blogger!
So guys......it's ok, be jealous.....I am STILL pinching myself! This was one of the best concerts I have ever been too! I am even more into Glee now! If they are coming to a city near you....GO!

Coronado Island

The Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell
Four US Navy SEALS departed one clear night in early July 2005 for the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border for a reconnaissance mission. Their task was to document the activity of an al Qaeda leader rumored to be very close to Bin Laden with a small army in a Taliban stronghold. Five days later, only one of those Navy SEALS made it out alive
I read Lone Survivor the week before my vacation and I gave my brother a copy of the book as a gift, although it may sound terribly sad it is a very heroic and amazing story. My brother who is a Marine trains on Coronado Island as do the Navy Seals and there is an extensive part of the book that talks about the base and training on Coronado. So I just LOVED it when on Saturday night after dinner we took a tour of Coronado Island. I loved being in the setting of a book I had just finished.....a book that will soon be a movie I might add.
This is the million $$ view of San Diego Bay from Coronado Island, this view is why people pay over 10 million to live on this Island. Yes, this small island houses 2 bases Marine & SEAL, one of the most amazing beaches (Imperial), amazing houses and the famous (famously haunted) Hotel Del Coronado!
The night sky was amazing and the weather was a cool 65 as we toured the Island.....
I played photographer this night and was happy to just take everything in. Coronado Island is my brothers favorite place in all of San Diego and it is now mine too.
The book the Lone Survivor was amazing and I think this is a book that everyone should read and if you ever have the chance do NOT miss out on a chance to go to Coronado Island! I hope I will be back!

Family Pictures at Sunset.....

Ok guys these are just some pictures I wanted to share.........our last night in San Diego we did a little homemade sunset family photo shoot and here are some of the pictures! Some are silly, fun, memorable and most of all I just wish Matt was able to be apart of the trip! But enjoy............

Encinitas, CA

So this first post will be about Encinitas a "suburb" of San Diego (about 20miles from downtown) that my brother lives in and the beach house he is living at! Encinitas is exactly what you would imagine a California beach town would be. Cool, easy going, laid back.....a real beach bum life. And with the beaches in San Diego and Imperial on Coronado ranking as the #2 beaches in the US you can imagine why so many people including my brother love living here.
Here is my brothers patio......I wasn't lying when I said he lived right on the water. Below is what under his deck looks onto....... some people heading out early in the morning to get a start in the water!
This all glass wall is his living and dining room ....I think I could get use to seeing the amazing view everyday. Could you imagine making dinner with this as your view? Hello!  I actually got to see some dolphins playing in the water outside his house, I was thrilled! Curtis said you can see whales from time to time also!
This is in the evening with a high tide the beach will disappear under the water but I love how beautiful it looks crashing up against the rocks!
The next two pictures are from Curtis's balcony......I loved watching everyone at the beach and the 100s of people surfing!
This was on Memorial Day, what a perfect day.....without the haze you can see San Diego bay from his house.
Marissa and I before we headed out to do some shopping! No we didn't plan to match! HA
Curtis lives in Neptune Ave which is quite famous for the beach front properties and the surfing! I loved this sign on the street by his house.
Take a minute and gaze into this picture......
This is on his patio as the sun was setting, everything is so calm and beautiful. I am glad we got to relax and take it all in.
Encinitas is so amazing.....people walk everywhere and the streets look straight out of a postcard....Something else I love.......everything is dog friendly... I mean I even saw weenie dogs on the beach! My brood would love it here!
This is one of the malls we went to .....I mean why would they have any need for an indoor mall when everyday it is a perfect 72 degrees and no wind?
Curtis also lives right by a farmers market and I have never seen so much fresh food everything from fresh fruit to artichokes the size of my head!!!! If only I could of brought everything back with me! He is so lucky...
I would kill to live by a farmers market like this...you can only imagine. You will also find booths with fresh fish that the fishermen caught that morning!
This is the view from Curtis's dining room and he will only be living here about 3 more months until he deploys but if you are in the market for a beach from home in San Diego the listing price is a mere 2.5 million! Any takers? 3200 feet of paradise!
You know California is just SOO different from Oklahoma...I think I could so easily get use to the relaxed organic way of life. It is kinda depressing to get back to the hustle and bustle of real life.
