Mr. Elway Savage

 How can it be? ONE year ago today we brought home a little scared puppy! One year ago today this little guy hit the jackpot of homes and everyday since he has ruled the house. His motto in life is "I do what I want" LOL!!!

I wish that for a day or two he could be that small again, it is so hard to remember him being that little...even though he is still so small! Everyone who meets him falls in love with him and lucky for everyone getting loved on is his favorite thing!

 Elway is our most expressive child, he has a different sound for everything and I swear to you I understand it all. We have full on conversations and most of those are him bossing me around.

 This little guy loves hard, plays hard and snuggles hard. The relationship Ralph and Elway has literally fills me with so much love. Ralph is the BEST big brother and watching the two of them play is so awesome! And yup, they even snuggle together too. Right now as I am typing this the two of them are having wrestle mania in the living room. The way Elway charges at the Ralph is so cute, I swear!

 In the beginning a new puppy was hard, I swear he hated us all and missed his real mommy but after we got over that stage it has been smooth sailing. This little guy fills our life with so much JOY. Even after the hardships of this year loosing 2 of our children this little guy fills us with love.

 It's been a fast year full of firsts for Elway and each day his bond on our hearts grows. Happy 1 year anniversary little guy!

10 Months

I can't believe our baby Elway is almost 10 months, he thinks he is 10 months going on 10 years. LOL! Let me tell you that Elway is so full of JOY it is contagious. You can just see how happy and kind his soul is and he has been so helpful during this past few weeks without Abner. If it wasn't for Elway I am not sure how Ralph would have gotten thru, Elway and Ralph are the best of buds and he is there for Ralph and gives him someone to play with. It really has brought out the puppy in our Ralph. Same with us, Elway and his joy have helped Matt and I... you can't be sad when you see this face. 

 Yes, this baby is spoiled rotten but we love it! His love tank is never full, he needs constant kisses, cuddles and play play time!

 Elway even traveled with me to the Georgetown house to meet his grandparents a few months ago and he ran around like a little boss. He even saw some deer and thought he might like to go after them! This silly little boy.

 When my Mom, Oma and sister were here 3 weeks ago they all fought over Elway. I think that must be what it is like when you have kids, the joy you get from seeing your family love on your children is so amazing. Really watching my family love on my babies makes my heart sing. Elway had a very special place in his heart for my Oma, she wrapped him up and snuggled him at night.

We 100% did the right thing brining in Elway knowing that sometime Abner would leave us and Ralph would need a companion. This little guy has been our glue lately and we all love him so very much!

SNOW Day!!!

Last year we had WAY more snow at this time so when I woke up to a winter wonderland today I was so excited! I thought that Elway was big enough to have a fun snow day! At first he wasn't really excited about going out into it but then he saw how much fun his big brother Ralph was having and he was ready to go...........

 It's so cute Elway wants to do everything his big brother does and they are finally forming a special bond! And literally right now Elway is laying side by side Ralph and they are both chewing bones! It makes my heart happy!

 What also makes my heart happy is seeing the JOY Ralph is having today running with his brother in the yard! Abner wants nothing to do with this white cold stuff and he is tucked into a pile of blankets on the couch while we were outside! Look at this cute action shot.......

Easy E

I can't believe that Elway Austin has been with us for about 6 weeks and what I also can't believe is that Elway has literally doubled in size! I mean he is still a very small fry but now he is a slightly larger fry!

 Elway is super bossy, has no fear, pees on everything, loves running, loves eating and loves his Mommy and Daddy! In fact this week I took Elway to visit Daddy at the office and he settled right in! He loves chasing his sister Bella and my boy Abner still completely ignores him. BUT the heavens opened for a Christmas miracle, Ralph decided this week that he no longer wants to murder Elway and they run...... chase each other.... lick each other and play like crazy. Yes, Ralph still gets annoyed and the play has to be supervised but good gosh I thought it would NEVER happen.

Things are still crazy, my life is running non-stop and he is a TON of work and boy OH boy can he scream! LOL!

You Guys!

Sorry I have been away for a few days but it's a good thing Elway is SOOO adorable because we are in the middle of puppy hell right now. We knew it would be hard, we haven't had a puppy in 8 years but.... WOW! We are running on NO sleep, I have a migraine from lack of sleep and this adorable puppy is terrorizing everyone in our house! LOL But really. I haven't gotten anything done this week and I haven't left the house but once..... he screams bloody murder anytime we put him down in his playpen and the poor other animals, I feel awful for them. I know it takes time and right now we are in the midst of the worst. BUT I am alive just being held hostage by an adorable 3 pound nightmare!

Elway Austin Savage

Surprise!! We are new parents!!! Let me introduce you to our bundle of joy...........

Elway is a mini dapple Daschund and his middle name is Austin because he was born in Austin, Colorado!

Elway was welcomed into our family last night at 7:45pm.

He is 3 pounds, 11 inches long

8 Weeks Old

Let's back up and start at the beginning!

Elway is Matt's Birthday present and at his Birthday dinner back in October I wrapped Elway's baby collar with his name on it! And ya, keeping the secret was hard but I wanted a "true baby reveal" because .... why not!
You know adding a new member of the family is a tough decision and he is in NO WAY a replacement for our beloved Oscar. But our other weenie Abner isn't doing too well, and our Ralphie boy has never been alone.... so we needed to add the 3rd leg back to our dog tripod. I was fine with ANY dog, are you kidding me... you know I will fall in love with anything but Matt was dead set on another weenie puppy and so here is Elway!

 Last night was the BIG arrival, we went to the Centennial airport to wait for our new babies arrival!

 And check out his ride, we had no idea he was riding in style A'la Jet service! But honestly it's kinda sad, he was so worked up being on a flight alone.... first day away from his family and then he meets his new fur family. Poor baby was BEYOND worked up and he still is!

 Look at that little face, he is SO small! It has been 8 years since we had a puppy and I knew it was going to be a ton of work but OMG! We are 100% new parents. I was up all night with him and his lungs work great.

And now he is starting his life with us, just wait until he realizes he hit the jackpot of families! The coming weeks are going to be SO hard but eventually we will all meld together. Our biggest boy Ralph would you believe it or not is scared of him, the cat is NOT happy but our boy Abner is trying his hardest to welcome him into our family. It takes time.

You know a TON of pictures are coming..... and I had BIG plans to do a whole newborn baby photo shoot with Elway but you guys getting a puppy to cooperate is NOT going to happen! I gotta go... he is crying his little eyes out right now.
