Merry & Bright

If you didn't get a Christmas card from us... no, we didn't forget you we just didn't do them. Well I did make them but this year I only got 12 to put on my families Christmas presents! But I did want to share with you all the card, it turned out so lovely! Last year we featured our boy Oscar on front and this year it was all about our little old man Abner!

 Of course we couldn't leave out the rest of our fur-children and I left the bottom half blank so I would write personal messages!

 Thanks to my Dad for taking both the pictures on the front and this one on the back!

MOM!

Before I start sharing with you all my Mom's Birthday trip to Denver I have to wish her a Happy Birthday because today if her official Birthday! SO Happy Birthday MOM from Me and my whole Brood!!!!!!!! xoxoxo

I love it when Mom comes every year around her Birthday because it gives us the best excuse to do all sorts of Christmas things around Colorado! We took Mom for her Birthday dinner downtown to Union Station which was decorated so beautiful!

 Then the 3 of us went to see A Christmas Carol the Musical and it was such a fun night full of getting dressed up.... Christmas decor and Holiday Spirit!!!!!!

 The musical was so amazing! We loved every minute of it and even Matt enjoyed it! The sets and actors did such an incredible job, we highly recommend it!

 Mom and I also spent our time shopping, relaxing and seeing movies! Monday night we met Matt out for dinner and then we went to the Denver Botanic Gardens for the walk thru Christmas light displays and we LOVED it!

 It is so fun getting bundled up and walking around seeing all the displays! This tunnel was super neat, the lights changed as you walked thru it!

On Mom's last day we went to the Star Wars Costume display at the Art Museum which included over 70 original costumes including ones from this last movie like Rey and BB8!!

 I mean literally seeing the original Chewie and the famous metal bikini was incredible!!!!! We loved every second of the exhibit!

 Here are just a few of my favorites!! You were also given a headset in which costume designers spoke about the pieces and the movies were playing behind the displays also! Which by the way Matt and I saw Rogue One yesterday and we loved it!!!!!!! The Force was strong in this exhibit!

 And yes, Mom fell in love HARD with Baby Elway!!!! Literally Moms mind was blown the first time she picked him up because he is so gosh darn adorable!

 We had such a wonderful time with Mom here and all my fur-babies LOVE it when their Oma comes to visit! Its always sad for everyone at Casa Savage when she heads home!!!

Christmas Come Early

We haven't actually decorated a house for Christmas in 2 years, its not always worth the work when you leave said house at Christmas time! This year we have house guests in December so I decided to decorate BUT I was going to wait until after Thanksgiving, that is until we got 16+ inches of snow last Tuesday! So Mom and I were snowed in all day and decided to decorate my house! Which by the way is much more fun with help and Christmas movies on all day!

 This year was kinda  crap-shoot.... we opened all the boxes labeled Christmas in the basement and used all the "hodge podge" of items from years past! But we made it work! I enjoyed tying in the black and white in the kitchen this year, it gives is a more modern look!

 New Christmas candles from Anthropologie are a must!

 I even found some really cute old Scentsy Warmers that I broke out for the Holidays too!

 I didn't want to go overboard, I wanted to keep the decorations minimal and really let the new house shine for it's first Holiday season! ha!

 You can't really see it here but the only new purchase is the black and red buffalo check table runner from Pottery Barn which I LOVE!

 I re-did our chalkboard wall in the dining room too, which is a very big mess while it's happening might I add!

 Ta-da!!! Here is our living room!!! I can't tell you how much we love our fireplace, we really wanted the modern look and it looks so nice!

 Oscar wasn't feeling well the day we decorated so for about an hour Mom's job was to hold this sweet guy like a little baby. He has good days like yesterday were he runs around like a crazy man but other days when he begs all day to be held.

BIG thanks to Mom for helping and we loved seeing the look on Matt's face when he showed up for dinner and had no idea were were going to decorate the whole house! ha!

Holiday Luncheon

So you all know that Matt is a District Manager for Farmers Insurance here in Denver and yesterday was our first annual District Holiday Luncheon! I am not gonna lie... it was emotional.....this was our first to host and truly a ending/recognition of a year of change coming to an end for us. This year we moved, Matt found an office space, decorated it, took over the District and making it to the end of the year and our first Holiday party was really special. 

 We were lucky to get our party sponsored so the space was given to us for free and we then had it catered in with some delish Italian!!! I spent all day Tuesday getting all the decor ready for the big day! And of course I did Farmers colors!!! It's a Farmers Insurance Christmas!

 Here I am with some of the agents that work out of our office, we had a great turn out! (ps blog readers...I am gonna recycle this outfit for Christmas eve so act shocked when you see it again)

 We played Dirty Santa and it was really fun, I am glad I added that into the invitation!

 Matt gave out awards that we had designed earlier this month! The agents didn't know about that so it was a nice surprise!

 Seeing Matt be so professional and talking to everyone in the room is weird for me.... it makes me wanna giggle! Not sure why but it does!!!

Overall the day turned out so well and I was so happy for Matt! Cheers to the coming year!

The Elves Hit the Office...

A few weeks ago Matt asked me to decorate the District Office for the Holidays and I was very excited to do it! We decided to do a "Farmers Insurance" themed Christmas and it turned out great! Here are a few of the pictures I took.......

 I made this wreath for the front of our suite and it turned out great..... when I say "made" I mean.... I added the Farmers logo and the bow!

 Here is our Red, White and Blue tree which matches the office perfect!

 I added our logo to our tree topper as well!! I swear it really does add so much cheer to the office we aren't going to want to take it down!!!

I'll Be Home for Christmas.....

Are you ready for a picture overload???? GOOD! HA, So........our trip got off to a rocky start..... we showed up at like 6:30am to the airport on Saturday the 21st to find out due to the Oklahoma ice storm our flight had been cancelled and all others were booked! So after a stressful hour at the SW desk we were able to get booked on a flight that put us in Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon!

 Look at this welcome.......my parents live close to the airport so they came to pick us up......with a sign and everything! We loved it!

 You know, sometimes you don't even realize how much you need a hug from your Mom and Dad until you get them. And I know the same goes for Matt with his family as well as mine!

 We were so lucky to get to Oklahoma in time to go to a Thunder game!!! Gosh I missed this experience! It was so much fun....... Thunder Up!!!!!

 Monday we got to spend the day with my brother and sister-in-law, it had been a year since we had seen them! I mean.......too long! We did what we did best.....shopped, ate and saw a movie! You like the ice tree?

 Matt and I were lucky enough to get to have brunch with these girlies.......the Kingry Girls! The girls fought over Matt.....he is a bonafide chick magnet! I had missed Melissa very much and when we were at brunch it didn't seem like anytime had passed! That is the true test of a best friend!

 Oh you know....... a token couple picture from Matt and I! Do you love his shirt as much as I do??? Matt got it for Christmas from his parents and we love it!!!

 Oh my dear Becky!!! I had missed her so much so getting to spend some time with her was so good for my soul. I laughed, we chatted, we ate, we shopped and I felt like the "Old Nicole" when I was with her.  Thank you Becky for that! PS- Happy Belated BIRTHDAY!!!!!

 Oh you know......just me and my "Becky's"......BK took time off of work on 1 nights notice to meet us for lunch...I am so lucky to have her in my life! Is it me or do the Becky's look alike in this picture?

 One of my favorite things we did all week was Christmas Eve service at Life Church with both of our families! They decorate the building so beautiful we all took time to take some family photos! And really could Marissa be any prettier?? I want her style when I grow up! hehe

How handsome are the Savage boys? I love how Matt lights up when he is with them! And thanks to Landon Matt and I are HOOKED on the Homeland series DVD's we got from him! We are almost thru Season 1 already!

 Merry Christmas from the Savages!! And yup, my Mother-in-law and I think alike hence our snazzy matching duds! I love them! After the service we celebrated our Christmas followed by a game night! We had a blast!

 This was Christmas Eve service.....the message Craig gave was wonderful, my parents left saying it was the best message they have heard in awhile!

 Here are my people..........Celebrating Christmas Day together and getting to spend time with my cousin Brittany as well as my brother and sister-in-law! It was so nice to be together! Cheers to being home!

 I love this picture and I LOVE my Oma and Granddad! I had missed them so so so much, when you go from seeing someone bi-weekly to a year passing it is just unacceptable!

And lastly my Mom........ Words cannot express how much I love her. Knowing someone loves you and knowing they know you best is.......well, the best!
