Fall Football Patio

Starting in a week or two it is that time called....maybe... "Pre-Fall" where Football reigns but not quite pumpkin take over!!! I wanted to turn my Summer patio into Fall Football Frenzie!!! Here is what I have done for our Town Home Patio, I can't wait for it all to come in! The rich Crimson just screams Fall Saturdays to me!!! And I think this will be very easy to transition into Pumpkins come October!!! I am excited to get this all fixed up before my family comes Labor Day weekend!!!!!!

Last week when I was home the reason was to celebrate Marissa and her graduation from college! It was 2 days filled with Ceremonies, Cheers, Family, Love and Hugs. 

How cute is she?? I swear it really was just yesterday that she was graduating from High School, just yesterday that I celebrated Tri Delt bid day with her and she moved into the dorms, just yesterday I initiated her as my sister twice over in Tri Delt......where did this time go? When did my awkward baby sisters who was all legs become an incredibly accomplished grown woman?

 Everyone....Meet Ryan.........Marissa's boyfriend who is an absolute doll! He is kind, funny and treats my sister like gold....I gave him an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up! Ryan went to OU and is currently in Grad school at OU like my sister is going to be!

 Friday night was the entire University of Oklahoma commencement in the stadium and my baby sisters picture was on the jumbo-tron for being awesome! hahaha! No, for real she got picked to be in the slide show they showed during the ceremony!

 At the end of Friday night OU gave us a stunning fireworks display.......it was the perfect way to end the night! "I am Sooner born and Sooner bred and when I die I will be Sooner Dead"...... Rah, Oklahoma!

 Saturday morning was Marissa's Journalism College graduation and before the ceremonies began we took a nice walk thru campus and enjoyed a little family time.

 That morning Marissa was honored by the Dean of Gaylord College and was inducted into their national honor society for being in the top 10% in her college! It was a private ceremony with only the Top 10% and their families.....it was truly special!

 Black and White was the uniform of the day......Not only was my Mom dressed in that but my SIL Jordan showed up as my Twinkie! What can I say we love stripes!
PS- My dress is Peter Som for Kohls and I LOVE it! #petersomforkohls And my necklace is Fossil.

 This picture is perfect, this picture is my entire family minus Matt and my Granddad both whom couldn't make it.....but here we are....all smiling, all in the same place.....this picture makes my heart happy!

Hi friends I have something exciting to share with you today................ Ok, so stay with me here.....At OU in the Spring all the Frats and Sorority houses pair up for a musical competition called Scandals.  

Ok....you are probably thinking why would frat boys want to sing and dance....and they just do, this is tradition and Hello, they get to work like 8 hours a week with hot girls?!?

So this year Marissa was voted by Tri Delt as Scandals Director, which is HUGE! As one of the directors she got to pick the theme "Woodstock" as well as songs, script and costumes! Tri Delt at OU is known for talent and it has always been that way. They have almost all the OU Pom and Cheer girls as well as musical theater majors so winning this competition is full of pressure!

Look how cute the girls are.................. I know, oh to be in college again......

 Just to get a spot in the actual "competition show" each house has to compete for a spot and here they are before they got a spot in the show! The show is performed on Mom's Day for the Greek houses at OU and tickets are hard to come by!

Well............. Guess what????? They didn't just win they SWEPT............

And it is not easy to win they perform in front of 2 sets of judges and this is a real "Pitch Perfect" competition!

Now I have a surprise for you............ This video is from the balcony but this is the Woodstock performance Marissa directed! I was so excited when she sent this video to me last night since I was not able to attend!! Just wait until you see the dancing, the clever song choices....I loved every minute!

I am sure you all have been wondering what my sister Marissa has been up to these days right? We should all live vicariously thru her! So here we go...........
Marissa and two of her girlfriends Sarah and Courtney celebrating on OU Game Day! (And no, this was not after the Tech game, ha) BOOMER!

If you were never in a sorority then you do not know the joy of "Big /Little"! These two are my sisters new "twins"! Long story short they are in her "family" now and on this night they were all surprised with TONS of gifts including matching PJ's from their new "bigs"!! They are much more creative now then when I was there....... they opened the box and out popped Marissa!! Ah, those were the days........

This is Marissa helping with OU welcome week and she made the cover of the OU paper! I am not sure but it looks like she is holding up a tray with subs? ha!

Marissa has also been picked as the ONLY representative for the Greek system to be on a committee for the OU Men's Basketball team! They help generate student support and think about fun ways to get everyone involved! SO a few weeks ago the OU Men's team held a reunion of sorts with past players and Marissa was one LUCKY duck who got to meet and get her picture with Blake Griffin! If you live under a rock or don't like the NBA this is the Slam Dunk man himself................

Here is Marissa when we got to meet OU's President David Boren. This was actually a very huge deal.......she was picked for being one of the outstanding students in the entire OU campus!

And lastly, her modeling days are upon her! This is just one shot for the University of Oklahoma 2012-2013 Recruitment packet featuring MY SISTER Marissa! Getting picked is a HUGE deal you have to excel in all areas of college and be in like the top 1%! So yes, this is VERY cool!

So that about sums it up..........fun huh?

Pancake Breakfast

This past Saturday me, my mom and dad went down to Norman for Game Day and Pancake Breakfast at the Tri Delt house! Every year Tri Delt has this amazing fundraiser that benefits St. Jude!! I have not been since I was in the house but this year was so fun to go back and see Marissa!

Yumm...........Pancake and sausage! Marissa had to work a shift handing out pancakes but we were glad she got the chance to eat with us!

They served hundreds all morning before the OU vs Air Force game! Boomer!

The ladies of the family enjoying some quality time together.....good ol' dad the picture taker, Thanks! Marissa said she missed me, even though the OU campus is close she is so busy we don't get to catch up much! I miss her too!

Well, until next year!! I will enjoy the next 4 years participating in Tri Delt stuff with Marissa! Love you!
