I Don't Have A Life....

Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
The Girl on The Train is the TOP book out right now and it is being sold as the "New Gone Girl". Is it? I am not entirely sure?! It's weird, I am torn about this book.... Did I enjoy it? Yes... But did it live up to the hype? Not really. The beautiful wife has gone missing, is she alive? Is her husband responsible? What was she hiding? That is the premise of the book! The lead character the "Girl on the train" is infuriating. She is a mess and everything she does is beyond stupid but that is who she is and who she is suppose to be in this book.  I will say I didn't figure out the "twist" until I was suppose to at the end.... that was a pleasant surprise. I would tell you to give this book a whirl you might love it. But if you want a Gone Girl.... read Gone Girl!
I have to say I am not a big Keanu fan but the quote on this movie poster is right.... it's his best as of late! This is a full on violent action movie the whole time and to be honest if someone was to kill one of my dogs I would do the same thing. So thank you to Keanu for acting out my rage! Your husbands will love this!
I have wanted to watch Nightcrawler for awhile to see the movie that Jake Gyllenhaal lost all this weight for and was said to be so immersed in his role. My take away? I have no idea why he lost weight for this movie other than to add to his creep factor. This movie for me is a WAIT until it hits cable. Really, it's weird.... it ends with no warning and there is no point. Ugg
Lastly I wanted to watch this movie to see Eddie Redmayne in his Oscar winning performance and he 110% deserves that award. It is incredible to watch him in this movie. He clearly has a gift and Felicity Jones is amazing, strong and so charming. But I will say that the performances are the highlight of the movie.... everything else is just a slow story on screen. I do think this movie is renter for sure, you should watch it but I didn't fall in love with it.

Now who is EXCITED for tomorrow????? Francis Underwood is BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

People.....

So we all know my husband is a District Manager who hires and trains new agents. Matt has been with Farmers for over 12 years and almost all his friends back home are in Insurance. They do so well, this isn't just a job but a life long career if you make it one. I mean everyone has to have insurance and Farmers is the #2 company in Colorado. Farmers is not commission only, not only do they have a great training program but we offer our own program for new agents in our District office as well.
We also all know I work for Matt and do what he needs me to do in the office. For the last month I have taken over the role as recruiter. So I find resumes I like, reach out to them via our Monster account and get potential new agents in to interview with Matt.
Now let me explain to you what Monster is..... people place their resume on this "Job Search" site to get employers to reach out to them. That is the only purpose of Monster. Each morning I reach out to newly posted resumes and shoot them a quick email. No call, nothing else.
Why am I telling you this? You would not believe the way PEOPLE treat me. PEOPLE who want a job, PEOPLE who posted their resume online with their own FREE will. It is literally awful..... I hate logging on each morning because of the things people say to me.
Here are a few just from this week....

"You do not know me, and it is rude and unprofessional to address me by my given name!
There is no way in HELL that I will ever do business with your company, especially after this contact from you!If I receive SPAM from you again (I make over $200k a year, and these positions you state you are hiring for are WAY beneath my skill set, education, and experience levels, so it is legally defined as SPAM), I will take legal action against you and your employer. TRUST ME!"

"F*** Off"

"I already have a job, piss off."

"Unless you can pay me a guaranteed 6 figures, shove this job up you a**"

"Insurance is a scam, if I get another email I will call the District Attorney or sue you"

"Get a real job like at McDonalds which would be more respectable and probably pay better than Insurance, F*** off"

Friends.... I could go on and on. And people will reply to me saying they will only talk to me once they hear what the salary is up front. I swear last time I tried to get a job I would never demand things up front from a potential employer. It is SO hard not to reply to these and even harder to not cry. What is wrong with people? Most of the time they don't even take the time to see that I work for Farmers Insurance and NOT State Farm or Liberty Mutual.... they think we are all the same company and I will get reamed for emails from other companies. Why are people so hateful? Who does this? Why would you speak to someone offering you an interview this way?

Fifty Shades....

Oh ya, I'm going there and I have A LOT to say! hehe!
So I forced myself to get out of the house last Friday like a normal human being despite my 2 week migraine. Where did I go? The movies of course!! I went to see Fifty Shades of Grey, mostly because I wanted to be "in the know" not because I loved the books (I didn't). SO I wanted to hate it, I really did but..... I LOVED it! Now, was this a cinematic masterpiece? No way but you know what your getting into. Was Twilight full of movie magic? No!
I thought the actors were great..... Dakota aka Anna was perfect at being shy and awkward. Just like she should have been when being introduced to awkward things. Jamie aka Christian was aloof, handsome and dominate just like he should of been. Was their chemistry off the charts? No, but I enjoyed it... it worked.
Now I want to talk about the good stuff... The stuff that people are "protesting" over, the stuff that people are soooo worked up about and I have to tell ya..... What are you talking about? I have seen more nudity in a episode of Game of Thrones and in the entire movie I think there may have only been like 5 cuss words. Literally. Are there a lot of boobs? Ya, but no one shows all their goods..... in fact Christian wears jeans 99% of the time. The sex scenes are spliced together in a montage sort of way that is hot but in no way NC-17. Is it weird watching someone get spanked? Ya.... but I could list a ton of recent R rated movies that were more R rated than this.  SO I am not sure what everyone is so worked up over? All of you protestors have you ever watched a R rated movie before? If you have then I'm sorry you have nothing to say. People like to have something to complain about... so please put down your picket signs (I'm talking to you Oklahoma) and find something better to do. Geez.

This movie was a hot, cheesy and fun afternoon matinee!

#BabyMakingDays Week 3

Thanks to Fertility Planit for sponsoring this post and giving me a Clearblue® Fertility Monitor. While I have received compensation for this post, all opinions are my own.
Hi Guys! We are already on Week 3 of #BabyMakingDays and week 3 of me using the Clearblue® Touch Screen Fertility Monitor. I have gotten into a pretty good routine of testing everyday and this week my result screen has been showing me the "HIGH" screen. The HIGH screen means the chances of getting pregnant are high this week! We shall see, huh? I am finding myself really enjoying using the monitor and I am loving that it does all the work for me. No calculations, No Guessing, No reading the "signs" this way I just know thanks to the monitor!

I have had a few questions from friends that I thought I would take the time to answer today!

Have I shared my results or this process with my doctor? I haven't. I don't see any reason to yet. At the beginning of the process of trying to conceive my doctor told me to come back once "X" amount of time has passed and we weren't pregnant. At that time we would talk about how to move forward in a way that would be best for us. But that time hasn't passed yet and I see no reason to schedule a doctor appointment.

Has using the Clearblue® fertility monitor had an impact on our intimacy? Not really. If I am going to be completely honest it has made it easier. How? The fact that the monitor tells me each day if our chances of conceiving are Low, High or Peak, takes away the guesswork as far as what days are most important to us.

Has using the monitor affected the emotional journey of TTC? Again, not really. Why? Matt and I entered into this whole process really open; we have no time restrictions, no deadline, and no high hopes I guess I can say. So this process hasn’t been “really” emotional for us in the sense that we haven’t been sad when it doesn’t happen. We literally just say, “Ok, next month” and move on.

Something that has affected me emotionally during this process of TTC is... my migraines. This week and last week has been brutal, I have had a migraine every single day! NO joke! That alone makes me feel blue and when I am down I start to think ..... how in the world can I raise a child on days I can't take care of myself. It really scares me. Migraines are a chronic illness that I was born with and I will have forever, the only thing I can do is manage them. Matt and I don't live by our families so we really just have one another so that is another worry. I have spoken to Matt about this several times and he knows how my migraines are, he understands that he will have to step up more and he says he is ok with that. But at the same time that doesn't do much to calm my worry. Having migraines control my entire life and so while we are TTC this is of course a major issue that I worry about. The conclusion? We will do our best, I am stronger than I realize and I will forge thru like I always do. Or at least that is what I tell myself.

HOPE

Hold
On
Pain
Ends
You guys I am very blue today, very EMO, very sick. This is day #12 straight where each day I have woken up with a migraine and gone to bed at night with one. If my husband wasn't my boss then I would have for sure been fired from any job for being unable to come to work. I swear, yesterday I just cried my eyes out..... why me? Why was a born with migraines? They completely rule my life. I have to cancel any plans I make.....ever. I spent all my time worrying about them and trying to stop them.
I would give ANYTHING absolutely ANYTHING to never have one ever again.

My Mom has them, my grandma and extended family members all suffer from them.... so it is the unlucky draw we have been given. There is no cure only small things that help (sometimes they do). I have tried everything.... meds, Botox, oils, drinks, diets, more meds, chiropractic care, massage.... they all might help "some" but not enough to make a difference.
Like always insurance only allows me 1 prescription for migraines and ONLY 18 pills a month. And I have been taking 2 a day. So I have 2 left and 2 weeks left until I can refill again. So unless I can find over $1,000 to buy them outright I am screwed.... once again. Thank you Medical Insurance. Also thank you Doctors for not giving a crap.
My rant is over.... I am heading back to bed, to lay in bed in misery. Luckily my cat is an excellent snuggle when I am sick.

What I Wore Lately....

Happy Hump Day friends!! I thought today I would share with you all What I Wore Lately!!!
First up this was my Valentines Date Night look!! I loved this fun tunic and I paired it with "faux" leather leggings from Nordstrom. I should of taken a better picture of my shoes.... next time! I had a complex when I came downstairs in this because Matt asked me if I was "Going to the club"! I didn't think it looked like that but men, I swear!
This was a last minute work outfit for Valentines week and I was surprised at how many compliments I got on my red skirt! So I will be wearing this again!
I had to share with you all my new purchase.... well it isn't new.... I was on the wait list since January for this collaboration between Kate Spade and New Balance.....and I LOVE them!!!
This was a fun look that I have worn before out to dinner, the dress is a tad short for me but it's a great excuse to wear these boots that I don't get to wear enough!
This was a snow day look ...........
Here are some of the pieces I wore that are still available at stores! enjoy friends!

Champagne Cake

Valentines Day was kinda a last minute thing.... not sure why but we didn't plan very well. Saturday Matt went to play golf and I wanted to make us a nice dinner so I had to scour my pantry to see what we had to work with. Dinner? eh.... not great but Dessert?? AMAZING! I can hardly call this a recipe it is so easy but here you go friends!!!

Champagne Cake

1 Box Angel Food Cake
1 1/4 Cups Champagne
Bundt Pan
Literally mix together the cake mix and the champagne until smooth.... really hard, isn't it?
Pour into a greased Bundt pan and Bake at 350' for 30-40 minutes! Don't under bake... make sure your knife comes out clean when you test it!
This is the sweet and yummy result! You can top this with anything and the champagne gave it such a unique under-tone.... Matt loved it!
I served ours topped with a scoop of Lemon and Raspberry Sorbet and it felt like a really fancy treat when it was as easy as easy could be!
Let me know if you make this and if you fall in love with it like we did!

#BabyMakingDays Week 2

Thanks to Fertility Planit for sponsoring this post and giving me a Clearblue® Fertility Monitor. While I have received compensation for this post, all opinions are my own.

Hi Guys!!! First things First.... I want to thank everyone for their kind words, encouragement and excitement since my post last week about #BabyMakingDays! It feels so nice to have such a great support group around us!!

Now, It's week 2 already for the #BabyMakingDays campaign and this week I am going to tell you more about the Clearblue® Fertility Monitor I have been given. I can't tell you how many friends of mine tried more than 6 months to conceive and it is looking like that is our path as well. One of my hopes for this series of posts is that it will help someone and maybe show them a new option to try out in the process of trying to conceive.
I have to say I was surprised at just how "high tech" this touch screen monitor is and after being initially overwhelmed by it, I took the time to read the manual and felt much more at ease. Ya, I am usually not a "manual reader" I am more of a "Trial by fire" kinda girl! ha! (Maybe that is why I am not pregnant yet! ha) #readthemanual
Here is what the screen looks like and it is great at prompting you on what you need to do next. First up was setting up your cycle.
Anywhere from 10-20 days of the month you will test daily. What does that mean? I use the fertility monitor sticks each day the screen tells me to (below, easy peasy). The sticks go into the monitor where my ovulation is tracked.
The monitor will then show you many different screens such as Low, High and Peak! But of course this is the BIGGIE! When I see this I know that today could be "THE DAY"! HAHA!
.
Using the Clearblue® Fertility Monitor is different, it is very easy to operate and it helps me to feel confident that we are on the right track. I will also say that since we have entered into this whole process of TTC it is quite amazing how complex everything is.
How has TTC affected our marriage?
Honestly, it's for the better! I think since we started TTC at the end of last October we are more open with one another and heck, you have to be! We communicate more and we actually laugh more.... I mean at times this whole process is pretty comical and you need to just laugh it off. Laugh off the weirdness of it all! ha! I can't be the only one feels that way from time to time, can I? And of course take time out to have fun with one another like this past Monday night we went to the Okc Thunder game vs The Nuggets!
