Passion
I miss dance everyday and sure I can dance whenever I want to or take classes again but I miss being in the thick of it. I live for the Step Up movies and So You Think You Can Dance and I have so many favorite pieces we could never get to them all. But lately Step Up Revolution has been on repeat on one of my channels and I am so in love with the finale dance. It isn't that this is so complex, or the best dance ever but it is a combination of many things. This songs, these people and the lead girl from SYTYCD Katherine.....she conveys so much emotion thru her dancing it mesmerizes me! I want to be in this dance, this dance makes me feel! And ya, it doesn't hurt that the guy is very easy on the eyes. I thought I would share it with you all on this TGIF!!!!

National Dance Day...
Hi guys! I am writing this post on Saturday which happens to be National Dance Day! WooHoo! I will try to get a little booty shakin' in today while I clean house! The dogs lurve it when I dance....NOT! So You Think You Can Dance means it is summer.....it just can't be summer without this show! I currently don't really have out-right favorites this season but I have had some favorite dances!
First of all, I love Dave Scott and everything he choreographs! Hello Step Up's........
Second, Makenzie is absolutely stunning and she is a performer....someone who draws you in every time she steps onto the stage!
Lastly, this dance rocks! I loved this dance......this performance made me want to rewind and watch it again!

DCC
Hey friends.......gather round I have a story for everyone.................
Do you know where I was on my 21st Birthday? I was at Cowboys Stadium for the DCC Finals! Yup, you heard me just a few years before they started the show on CMT I was one of those anxious girls in booty shorts! Let me say I LOVE that show but I am so glad they didn't have it when I was there, I mean who wants to see them say bad things about you on TV and at the time I was such a rookie I didn't fit in.
I made it thru all the rounds and on my 21st Birthday my parents and I drove to Dallas and I competed in the final round where I was then cut. This was my FIRST professional try out and I had no idea what I was getting into. Fast forward to my AFL & NBA try outs and heck ya I was made up, tan and fully rhinestoned out!! But the DCC being my first professional audition I had on a plain red sports bra and hot pants and at this time I was in between blonde & brown hair (blonde streaks) and I was so plain compared to everyone else. I still remember my solo like it was yesterday and yes I did the famous kick line!!
Somethings they different when I tried out was...
1. I took a 50 question test over the NFL that I studied a week for
2. 1 on 1 interviews on that day, yes I interviewed with Kelli & Judy
3. I had to weigh in and sign a 5 pound contract, I could not loose or gain 5 pounds without permission
It was a long long day and in the end I didn't make the team and in my interview I was told I was "Too All American looking and they already have alot of that look" but it is such a neat experience and a cool way to remember my 21st Birthday. I think that I why I love the show so much, you guys should check it out....Friday's on CMT!

Day 19- I am a "Use-to-BEE"
30 Day Challenge- Day 19 What is your Talent? DANCE!
For those of you who don't know me or are new to my blog I am a "retired" dancer!! I have taken dance since the age of 2 and I just stopped at age 27!! Whew, makes me tired just thinking about it. I danced at a studio growing up, competed and even got to perform at Disney Worlds "Magic Music Days", I was a Pom Girl in HS, danced and choreographed for my sorority at rush and homecoming and I even danced professionally for 4 years. Below is some of the highlights from my professional "career".............
I danced for Oklahoma's Arena football team for 4 years...the Yard Dawgz and I LOVED them!!! Can you pick me out below? This is a dance I actually choreographed for our "Pre-Game" show.........

Cheering on the sidelines!! Little did Matt know when he met me that he would spend 2 years of his life at sporting events watching me dance from the stands! Get this....he got free season tickets to everything and he said he had his fill of games for awhile after those 2 years were up!
Then I was lucky enough to dance for the OKC Hornets!! It was a dream come true...as far as dance goes the NBA is one of the top places you can take your talent too! And no we didn't just cheer at games and stand around (that bugs me).....we danced 3xs at 40 games and practiced over 9 hours a week on top of OVER 40 hours of "appearances"...AND I was working full time. Yes, it almost killed me!
The next are some of the professional pictures given to me from game photographers I am lucky enough to have them as memories!!
We were called the "Honeybees" so that is why I am a "Use-to-BEE" as in I use to be really fit and I use to be someone cool! LOL
Oh yes, don't kid yourself.. "Save a horse, ride a cowboy" this is OKLAHOMA people!
It was kinda neat signing autographs, we all took turns at half time sitting at a table in the arena....in our home office we have a wall that has all my posters and autograph cards hung...called memory lane!
CHEESE!!!!!!!!
So that will conclude the Talent portion of this post!
