The 2nd Annual Holiday Home Tour
December 6, 2-6pm

Enjoy a self guided tour starting in the Commons Area at Westmoore High School visiting several beautifully decorated homes throughout SW, OKC. We have added an exciting stop on our tour this year. Ticket Holders will visit our Christmas Market filled will lots of exciting and unique gifts just in time for the Holidays.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the following locations:

The Shady Lady located in the Greenway Shopping Center, Party Craze located in the Palagio Shopping Center, Blue Bean Coffee in the Stonebriar Shopping Center, FAA Credit Union located on Western and Broadway Florist located on Broadway in Moore.

Tickets will also be available in the front office at Westmoore High School. Tickets at the Door will be $15. Ages 10-Adult.

(All proceeds will go to the Westmoore Senior Scholarship Fund providing college scholarships to our seniors).

Sick

So I was sick the WHOLE break and I had to miss all the fun family events with my brother in town.... I am on a Z-pack and here it is Monday and I am at work and I feel worse than I have been! Grrreat!

Just Great

Would you believe this JUST in time for my four day weekend it looks like I am getting a cold, this is the second morning I have woken up with a sore throat and the coughing has just started! I am gonna be real mad if I have to spend these 4 days in bed! Typical
Lets talk about "Coughing fits".... I get these and always have with a cold... I can feel this "fit" coming on as it starts with a tickle and then a full blown attack. I just had one at work and they are soo embarrassing!!! I go into full blown coughing and hacking... my eyes turn red and tear up.....I then gag myself over and over because of the force of my coughs and let me tell you there is nothing worse then having people watch you cough and gag for like 5 minutes straight. I can't speak during this to even tell people I am not dying, I just try to motion with my arms to people to RUN!! UGG I will have to avoid public places for the next couple of days!
And on a lighter note... Happy Thanksgiving... I hope everyone travels safely! Matt has left with his dad and sister to go to Iowa to visit his grandparents while I stay here to spend time with my family and my brother who is flying in on leave. Tonight I am actually cooking for my family at my house and I am going to try my hardest to not hack all over their meal! haha! Then tomorrow my contribution to Thanksgiving is desserts... I am making a Pumpkin Pie and that to die for Brown Sugar Cake!! Yumm!!

Kendall...

Sunday I had a Scentsy Open House at my casa and Melissa brought Kendall with her (our God Daughter) and she lights up when she sees Matt & Marissa...
She actually lunged for Marissa when she walked in the door...

She is reaching for Abner, she LOVED the weenies.... it was the cutest thing to see her squeal with delight when the dogs were near her.

She petted them and she even loved when they jumped up to kiss her face!

This is right after she got a BIG KISS from Abner, he was such a good boy he even let Kendall tug on his ears!!

You may remember last week I posted about her being in a KJ 103 contest??!! TURKEY!

I made this meal last night for Matt, it is from Rachael Ray and she called it Thankful in Thirty...well two things 1. This took me longer than 30minutes 2. It doesn't taste like Thanksgiving.
BUT!! I loved it, I enjoy using Turkey cutlets and I do quite often!! This meal was flavorful, colorful and soo yummy!
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds turkey breast cutlets
Salt and pepper
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
1 orange, zested
2 sprigs fresh rosemary, leaves finely chopped
Olive oil or vegetable oil
1 pound bulk sweet Italian sausage or 3 short links removed from casing
1 medium onion, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
2 large cloves garlic, crushed
2 small to medium zucchini, cut into bite-size chunks
2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Season the turkey cutlets with salt, pepper and poultry seasoning. Set up separate dishes with the flour, the eggs and the bread crumbs combined with cornmeal, cheese, orange zest and rosemary. Coat the cutlets in the flour, then in the egg, and then in the bread crumb mixture.

In a medium skillet, heat a drizzle of oil over medium-high heat. Add the sausage, and brown and crumble for 5 minutes. Stir in the onions, peppers, garlic, zucchini, thyme and salt and pepper, to taste. Cover and cook until the zucchini is tender, about 10 to 12 minutes

Heat a saute pan with 1/4-inch of oil over medium to medium-high heat.

Add the cutlets, in batches, and cook until deep golden brown, about 4 minutes on each side. Transfer the cutlets, when cooked, to a baking rack to keep crisp.

Tipsy Gravy- YES! I know it is purple and that kinda weirded Matt out also UNTIL he tasted it!!!!
Gravy:

3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup red wine (recommended: Pinot Noir) (I used $7 Barefoot Cab)
2 cups turkey or chicken stock
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Melt the butter in small skillet over medium to medium-high heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Stir in the wine and reduce for a minute or so, then whisk in the stock and cook until thickened, about 3 to 4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

Mound the sausage and zucchini on serving plates, top with the cutlets, then douse with gravy and serve.

Yumm!! It was a nice meal and after yesterday with super cleaning of the house, holding a Scentsy open house in the afternoon and Matt putting up all Christmas lights it was Nice to have a wonderful meal to end the day! ENJOY!

New Moon!!!
I will make this short, simple and to the point............it was AMAZING! I had the BEST time with such great friends!!! And Taylor Lautner aka Jacob, OH MAN he is beyond Good Looking!! Team Jacob!!!!!!!

And now the countdown to Eclipse June 30th has begun!!! Watching the movie made me want to run home and re-read the books for the third time!

Finally

SO after a year of waiting and hearing about New Moon it is finally here!! I heard from TONS of my friends who went to the midnight screening that it is amazing and so much better than Twilight!!! I can not wait! Tomorrow a group of 12 of my girlfriends and I are going to have a fun "pre-party" and watch Twilight, play Twilight Scene It and just relax before we go to our 6:30 showing!! We are even more excited that we have reserved seats in the balcony so there is no need to wait hours in line to get good seats plus they serve food and drinks in the balcony!! It will be so much fun!! So get excited girls.............

Moo

SO you know how I ALWAYS come across stray animals and I save 75% of them but when I am unable to help the other 25% it literally breaks my heart. I always say I don't know why God keeps placing these animals in my path when I am running out of funds to save them all. Well this morning on my way into work I was going the "Back way" and would you believe I came across a stray COW in the road!!! I froze... I was like OMG, poor thing looks lost and I haven't a clue what to do about this situation. So I consider calling 911, that warrants 911 right? I also know there is no way I can load this 500 some odd pound cow in my trailblazer and I don't even know how to herd cattle (where is the Pioneer Woman when I need her??) So I am stressed out because this cow deserves to be "rescued" just as much as any dog or cat does........then God must of heard my pleas because a truck drove up and stopped to help!!! Whew! I only wish I would of taken a picture of this HUGE beautiful black cow moseying down the street.

So who wants a Cupcake car?

The 2009 Neiman Marcus Holiday catalog is out and who doesn't like to shift thru the pages and imagine you were rich? Is it just me? Well below is a video about the "Fantasy Gifts" and I only wonder who really buys these and what do they do? The gifts are over the top and that is what makes this catalog unique....and I was not kidding about the Cupcake car it is the craziest thing I have ever seen, so silly!! Could you imagine? HA!

And since we are talking Neiman Marcus here is their
"Famous Cookie Recipe"

Ingredients
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1-3/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 teaspoons instant espresso coffee powder
1-1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cream the butter with the sugars using an electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy (approximately 30 seconds)

2. Beat in the egg and the vanilla extract for another 30 seconds.

3. In a mixing bowl, sift together the dry ingredients and beat into the butter mixture at low speed for about 15 seconds. Stir in the espresso coffee powder and chocolate chips.

4. Using a 1 ounce scoop or a 2 tablespoon measure, drop cookie dough onto a greased cookie sheet about 3 inches apart. Gently press down on the dough with the back of a spoon to spread out into a 2 inch circle. Bake for about 20 minutes or until nicely browned around the edges. Bake a little longer for a crispier cookie.

Yield: 2 dozen cookies

The Lucky One

So I finished The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks last night and I wanted to give a little review. As you know last week I read Dear John by NS and loved it and I had high hopes for this one as well. Now keep in mind books I love you may not love and vice versa, I know alot of friends who loved this book but I was not really into it. The story is about a Marine who finds a picture of a woman while serving in Iraq and then believes this picture gave him luck. Once back home he sets out to find her and you can imagine the rest. I never really got into the characters with this one, I never felt a connection which lead me to not really care what happened. It was just ok, I felt that for 3/4 of the book he lead up to this climax that just fizzled for me. It was a quick read but overall it was just "ok"! If you read this or have shoot me a comment and tell me what you thought.

Holy Houseguests

SO I thought I would share with you my blogger friends that starting tomorrow we will be having house guests for ONE WEEK! Yes, you heard me right! Here is the jest Matt informed me of this 2 days ago that his friend Justin whom I have met once and his fiance whom I have never met will be staying at our casa while they look for a place to live. They are being relocated to okc (fyi). Now this is ok, but lets face the facts here we don't live in the Big Mac of homes more like the chicken nugget of homes then add in our 4 animals and you get the picture. The "guest bedroom" and I use that term loosely because it does have a bed but what it also has is my entire wardrobe, underwear, shoes and everything else I need to go about my day. We have small closets so we divide to conquer. So tonight I shall be picking out a weeks worth of outfits and hauling them upstairs to lay on the floor (snazzy)then moving my whole "bathroom junk" out of the bathroom and moving it upstairs to our small bathroom so our guests can use the big one downstairs. This "guest room" is also my Scentsy storage so it looks like my car will be getting the boot as Scentsy is going to take over our garage. And I have a Scentsy party while they are here! I will admit I am embarrassed by the way this room looks but what can I do in 24 hours?
I am sorry if I seem to be a tad pouty and complaining but......... well I have no excuse. But Matt was giving me "lip" early over the MAD CLEAN that needs to be done tonight in preparation and I told him to sack it up and get on it! So new friends if you are reading this Hi & Welcome!

So it seems that the Robert & Kristen aka Edward and Bella rumors are TRUE!! This pic is all over the Internet today and it shows them holding hands in London... if you ask me I think it is cute but I am sure a million tweens are crying their eyes out today! The sparkly vampire is taken ladies!

And in case you have not heard Stephanie Meyer will be on Oprah this Friday and I am excited to hear what all she has to say about the HUGE success of the Twilight Franchise. So be sure to set your DVR's!!!! I also hope she will talk about how her other book The Host (which I loved) is set to become a movie soon!!

Now also all over the Internet is the crap-tastic Jon Gosselin who tries to "parody" himself in a Funny or Die video and I think he BLOWS! He can not get out of the "spotlight" and he grosses me out! To see the video click here!!
