Every year I always have goals, resolutions, things I want to do.... yada yada. Last year I "debuted" a Word of the Year, which was HOPE. You can read that post HERE and I do actually think that all year that word stuck with me, was in the back of my mind and I tried to hold my HOPE close to my heart. For the past week I have been thinking a lot about 2017 and how to move forward because I feel very much STUCK. And I found a word/theme for 2017 that truly encompass how I want this year to go. In ALL areas:
* Emotionally
* Physically
* Weight
* Relationship with my husband

So you guessed it, RESTORE. I mean just look at every word of that definition including synonyms and that describes it ALL. How will I do this? I am not really sure just yet to be honest but finding a common place/word/theme is a nice place to start I think. I think how I started the new year off... in bed, recovering from surgery wasn't helpful for me. There wasn't any BANG or any excitement but yet another moment of hardship. And as silly as it might sound I feel stuck right now, stuck in the losses of 2016, stuck not wanting to get out of bed. I have this word now, goals and what not but I can't seem to kick off how to get going.
Do you have a word or theme for 2017? How are you kicking off the New Year?

New Year, New Start

Can you all believe that this is the first week of 2016? I can't decide if 2015 flew by or drug by, but regardless we are in a new year. I am not a "Resolution" girl, but since Matt is big on them over the past few years I have tried. I don't like the idea of setting myself up for failure... so I have adapted the idea of resolutions to fit me. I list out goals and projects for the year. My most successful goal was 3 years ago when my goal was to loose weight. I didn't put any restrictions on it so that I would be happy with anything. And I did it, 3 years later I am still holding strong at 47 pounds lost. Last year our joint goal was to find a community we love and buy a home, which we did. Now it is time to make out 2016s goals.....
Below I have shared with you all some things that are going to help in my goals and projects this year! Things to get me started (the new comfy desk chair and glitter house slippers) and things to help me achieve! One goal is to finish 365 days of a devotional and I found the Best one, Savor! This devotional even has recipes in it, it speaks to me. Every year I get a planner to help me stay on track and this year I went with a Plum Paper planner, you can see below. Now, I am a big keeper of memories and I have not scrapbooked since Ohio... a goal it to get caught up! I am loving the Project life series from Michaels and I have already started scrapbooking this week! I also want to read 3-4 books a month and the first one of the new year will be Six of Crows, I have been hearing so much buzz about it! Lastly, via another blogger I came across The 52 Lists Project and man do I love a list!!! This book is amazing, every week it prompts you to make a list... everything from your new goals for the year to your favorite characters from books and TV! I am excited to complete this and have it to look back on in the years to come!

I hope maybe some of my stuff will inspire you in this beginning of 2016! Happy New Year Friends!

2012

 Matt and I went to dinner on Sunday night for New Years Eve instead of Monday, I would like to say it was because we didn't want the crowds but it was actually because we waited so late we couldn't get in anywhere! Can you believe this is our 7th New Years Eve together! That is a long time! HA.....And as we all do on the New Year I was thinking back......in one way this has been the longest year of my life but at the same time I think....where did it go? This has also been the hardest year of my life and me the girl who rarely cries cried enough crocodile tears to get me thru 2013 I hope! I am blessed in so many ways and I am thankful for so much (see my end of year thankful post) but...to be honest I sure hope 2013 is better. I am kind of scared about what 2013 will bring, is this year going to be good to us or bad? Only time will tell and you know I will tell you! ha! Let's look back at SOME of this years craziness!
* Surprise... we are moving to Ohio! (Boomer Sooner) Matt accepted a different position with Farmers since but we are still in Columbus.....and it's all good!
 * Matt moved to Ohio early and I (pat myself on the back) sold our home by owner in 30 days! Our family got together to help us move! If you remember we didn't close on the Ohio house so I moved in with the 'rents!
 * Goodbye house in Okc.....house we got engaged in, lived 5 years in and the house where we were lucky to be close to both of our families.
 * We said Goodbye to good friends............
* On Memorial Weekend Mom and I loaded up 2 of the animals and began our 2 day cross (1/2) country journey to my new life.
 * These 2 were troopers.........I mean who looses their cat in a hotel? To read about our nightmarish ordeal click HERE!!
...
 * Matt and I bought a new home in Pickerington about 12miles South of downtown Columbus. We are still adjusting, things take time.
 * Remind me NEVER to move again unless it's to Oklahoma again! This was SO much work.
 * Once in Ohio we went to see a PGA tour in Dublin (Ohio) St Louis Cardinals game and to a Broncos game both in Cincinnati!
 * I got to see my Sister-in-law get married which was such a wonderful night! Congrats!
 * I then came back in November to see my brother get married too! A big year in both of our families!
* Lastly Matt and I got to travel home for Christmas and spend time with family. This year is exhausting just thinking about it.....but we have to believe we are on the right path and trust in our future.
So.....bring it on 2013..........

New Year, New You?

Ok, here is the typical New Years Resolution Post all us bloggers do! I am not a big resolution person you might remember I had 2 last year "1. Not suck at my job & 2. Not get any fatter" and both of those are up for debate! LOL! Matt on the other hand is a huge resolution person and he encouraged me to make some this year. So......I thought I would share a few of them with you.............
In no particular order..........

* Read 30 books this year
* Say no, not do so much this year. I have a habit of filling my life with SO much and doing So much!! I think I am filling my life with things to make it better but is it really better just because I am busy??
* Eat vegetarian 4 nights a week.
* Start small......start walking and try to work up from there. I would love to loose 15 pounds.
* Continue to grow my Scentsy business
* Be on top of all my animals health, shots, pills.....etc!
* With my husband working ALL the time it's hard but I want to continue working hard on marriage to ensure that we do not grow into separate lives. (He works everyday 8am-9pm and every other Saturday)

So what are your resolutions? Do you follow thru? I am going to try very hard to follow thru and heres to hoping the world doesn't end this year!
