I Heart You

Valentines Day is sneaking up on us, T-2 weeks people! For us at Casa Savage we use this day as an excuse to spend money on a nice meal. Sometimes we exchange gifts sometimes not.... although I doubt I can top last years gift.... tickets to see Metallica at Mile High. So... maybe this year I will just do a nice meal! LOL

Hey Guys, can you believe that January is about to wrap up? In one sense it feels like it was Christmas yesterday but another part of me feels like it should be March already! I wanted to update you all on my Year of Wellness! I know that results will take time, I have only been back to acupuncture twice, had 2 massages and been on a new migraine med for 6 weeks.... things take time. Honestly this month has felt like I am moving backwards.... this past week I had a migraine every single day, I am at a breaking point. And over the weekend both Matt and I came down with colds, I am just sick all over right now. It's discouraging for sure. Why body is so full of migraine medicine and cold medicine and that alone makes me feel horrible and upsets my stomach! UGH. But I will keep on keeling on and see how next month goes.
On a GOOD note....... I really enjoy yoga! I went twice a week this whole month and in fact my teacher said I need to move beyond PodBasics because I am doing so well, that is so awesome to hear. I find it really challenging and as I am sore all over I think about how strong I will be in the months to come. This week I will most likely miss classes because I don't want to get anyone sick and that makes me sad. I am very proud of myself, who knew there might be a yogi in me!
How are you doing in your new year goals? Like I say change is hard even when it is good and good things take time!

Sorry I have been MIA but lately I have nothing to say. I have been busy getting into the New Years routine, starting yoga and focusing on my health. I have also been taking on a new deep clean house project daily.... I know real exciting around here!! LOL
I just wanted to drop in and say HELLO!!! I hope you all are having a great start to 2018!!

Holiday Movie Round-Up!

For me it isn't the Holidays if they aren't full of movies! But sadly this lot doesn't have a lot to get excited about! BUT, if you already saw my TOP movies of 2017 then you do know that The Greatest Showman was my #2! Don't walk but RUN to see that movie! It is so incredible and you will leave the theater feeling so full of life!

But now we can talk about the bad............

Downsizing..

The premise of this movie is great. The world is too full, too expensive so people are becoming small and the money you had in the big world makes you super rich in the small world. The first 1/3 of the movie I really enjoyed BUT then it's like they switched writers, switched plots and went off into a weird movie. Really, it was bizarre.... I mean maybe rent this but also know there was full frontal nudity and a ton of F-bombs. 

 All The Money In The World
OK, the negative on this movie was that it was SUPER slow. I didn't hate this, in fact it was incredibly interesting. And goodness that J.Paul Getty was a horrible human it made me so mad. The acting was great but it was just slow. So this would be a great renter for a cold night this winter!

 Atomic Blonde
Matt and I have passed over this movie so many times while picking out a movie to rent so finally we pulled the trigger. This was a odd one because the music was amazing, the action so cool, Charlize looked stunning in every scene but if you ask me what this was about ... I have NO IDEA. Something about files, Russia of course and double agents but thats all I got from it. When it was over Matt and I were like... I didn't hate it but I don't know what happened. So ? LOL

Oh dear God....I read all the reviews when this movie came out how some critics and people LOVED this movie but a majority hated this movie. So even though I knew chances were I wouldn't like this movie I rented it anyways to see what the fuss was all about. AND.......I couldn't have hated this movie anymore. It was stupid, confusing, literally had NO point and then the last 15minutes are horrific. Like really. Do not ever waste your time or money on this crap.

Pitch Perfect 3...
Let me start by saying this movie was fun, a perfect afternoon movie for one. But this time around I felt like all the funny jokes of the past 2 were replaced by stupidness. All the humor in this one was just stupid and I didn't laugh. Also a lot of the performances were spliced together so I think we only say 1 number in it's entirety for the whole movie... which was disappointing. I mean I didn't really dislike this movie I just didn't really love it either.

For the past few years I have done a word of the year, not a resolution but a theme for the year. You can see my past 2 years HERE. Last year was restore and the year before hope.
It's funny how even being at a doctor twice a week for a few years with infertility can actually cause you to put off other areas of your life. You are so focused on thing, everything else slips away. My migraines have been there the whole time.... my cross to bear. This year I am going to start trying new things again to help alleviate them. You guys I have at least 4 migraines a week, I just don't talk about it a much anymore because it's like... whats the point. Anyways...
This year I want to (among other things) focus on my wellness. Here are some of the ways I plan on doing this....
* Migraines, I already started last week a new daily medicine to see if it will help reduce the frequency of them. Bi-Weekly massages on my head and neck to work out tension before it creates a migraine.
* Acupuncture, I use to go all the time during infertility treatments and then I just stopped. I am going to start back twice a month so migraines and just my overall chi and wellness
* Yoga, I have been told many times that this will and can not only strengthen my body but help with my anxiety and migraines AND a new place Yoga Pod opened in my neighborhood this week. I made the leap and joined. My goal is twice a week.
* I need to loose 6-7 pounds and then as always maintain.
* I am going to walk more and be more active outside when the weather is good here. Kayaking in Georgetown, walking my neighborhood trails... for me I need things that don't feel like a workout.
* I need to almost completely eliminate my stupid lazy fast food lunches. I have to get a better plan together.
* I am going to continue to read for fun and for my happy soul.

Thats my start and to pay for these added additions I truly need to cut back on my spending. If I pass HomeGoods once that will pay for that massage. If I don't but nonsense that will cover may yoga. I'm going to try really hard.
