Life's Biggest Questions......

Do you ever sit around and ponder questions? Like why? How? No? Well here we go...........

* On the Bachelor and Bachelorette when a Helicopter drops them off on a remote island or on top of a mountain cliff with nothing but food and booze...what happens when they need to go to the bathroom? I mean I pee like once an hour....do they have to pop a squat?

* On Hoarders....why do they ALL get their water turned off? Like what is it about being a Hoarder does that mean you will have no running water and therefor you must collect your own human waste and then NOT throw it away? I know it is gross but don't act like you haven't thought of it?!?

* Why does Mitt Romney when he is trying to be "one of the people" keep saying stupid things like "My wife has several Cadillacs">??! Stoopid

* Why doesn't someone tell Bachelor Ben that is hair is awful?! I mean it is not even a little bit cute, it literally grosses me out?! Or can someone get him a flat iron?

* Another Bachelor question............How do the girls on a date magically know to always wear a bikini under their cloths in the chance they can get into some sort of water with Ben? It's weird!

* Why do all the "Bravo Housewives" talk bad about each other in their confessional like the other ladies are just not going to watch it and see??

* On Vampire Diaries WHY o' WHY don't they cut that ugly "duck tail" off of Damon? That would increase his hotness by like a ton!?!?

* Why does everyone have a tip jar now? I mean for taking my order why do you want a tip? You are not making $2.13 an hour like servers are?!? I mean I never know what to do...it is like everyone wants a tip now?! It is so confusing.

* Also on Hoarders (A&E and TLC) why would you Hoard your trash? Random items and shopping is one thing but why would you like never take your trash out for 10 years and why do you always have to get poor cats and make them live in that with you? eek

* Why do all my TV shows have like 3 finales? Like you air for a few weeks in Fall then go on break? Then you go on "Winter break" (eh em....Glee, Parenthood, Vampire Diaries...) and then you get Summer break too? WHY???????

* Why isn't Betheny Frankle my friend?

* Why can't I be on Fashion Police?? I love that show! I could be a "Fash-ho"

Oh guys....I could go ON AND ON! What silly things do you always wonder? Do you have answers to my most burning questions??

Thankful Thursday

So today, I once again have a migraine......I feel like I am on the verge of some sort of break down or wearing down from feeling so sick. Times like this it is very hard to be grateful or thankful as awful as it seems but I guess that is all the more reason for me to reach really far and find some things to be thankful for.....................

1. I am thankful that my new ride has a sunroof, it has been a crazy warm winter and the fresh air is....well, refreshing!

2. Nicole, last night I had dinner with an old friend whom I waited tables with also named Nicole.....and you would never know it has been so long, we didn't miss a beat!

3. My Cat, I am for real....Isabella is so wonderful and I love her so much. She likes to lay on weird things or anything new I bring into the master bedroom (her domain) ex: bags, boxes, clothes, magazine you name it, she will lay on it.....cats are silly and she makes me smile, if you don't have one your missing out!

4. Hoarders, yes the both shows on TLC & A&E- If you really want to feel good about yourself or your home watch this show. I am serious and I am very addicted. (Sorry if any of you are hoarders and I offended you but if the time comes where your water gets cut off and you are still using the bathroom in your home, you need help)

5. My friend Becky B who lovingly stood in line for 4 hours yesterday to buy our posse our opening night Hunger Games movie tickets! We are watching it where else.....the Warren Balcony, can not wait! 1 month countdown is ON!

6. Lastly, the dogs next door. I don't have a window in my office but if I roll my chair back about 6 feet I can look out a window onto the house next to our office and watch their 2 dogs lay in the grass all afternoon. Sometimes I daydream about going out and laying with them!

A call to help...

Some might ask me what do I hope to gain from certain posts I do reguarding animals? Lets take for instance several posts I have done over the last couple of years about the Taji Dolphins and the outstandingly heartbreaking documentary The Cove....I know for a fact that several of you watched the documentary and found out about something you had no idea that was happening in the world, and then many of you even helped out charitably for these beautiful creatures. And it is being educated on things like this that will lead to change. So I hope that you just might read this and have it spark an interest in you like it did to me when I came across this article yesterday. From here maybe we all can find a way to help or spread this message further. TONIGHT on Rock Center with Brian Williams there will a sad, cruel and heartwrenching story on Rhino poaching. These stunning creatures that God created do not have guns and cannot defend themselves against the pochers who fly above in helicopters shooting them so they can ultimately hack off their horn and leave them for dead.

Geza was one of our first four rhino that we introduced back into that wilderness area that basically then had rhino back on it for the first time in probably 160, 170 years,” Rushmere said.

In February of last year, Rushmere received a devastating call that poachers had attacked Geza and that incredibly, he was still alive. Rushmere alerted Fowlds who rushed to the reserve.
“I went in by myself and when I came around the corner and first saw him, obviously the first thing that strikes you is that there’s an animal that’s supposed to have horns on it and not only were the horns gone, but a large part of his face was missing too,” Fowlds said through tears. “It was just an all consuming sight of pain and agony and confusion. It was an awful thing.”
Rarely are poached rhinos found alive. The poachers had knocked Geza out with a tranquilizer dart and then hacked through his skull with a machete to get every inch of his horn.

Sick and Tired

Hi friends.....2 posts in one day? You may be thinking what did we do to deserve this? Well, you have probably spoke too soon......as this post is a rant or vent of sorts............

How is my new job going? Good, I am doing good and I enjoy the positive feedback I have already gotten in these 2 short weeks.
What is not good? Is sitting in a cubicle, staring at 2 wide screen monitors for 8 hours, getting up and ready to leave my house before 7am and getting hit in the face with florescent lights all day. Friends, these two weeks have been the sickest I have been in ...I don't know how long! Every SINGLE day I have had to fight a migraine along with the urge to cry in a bathroom stall while at work each day. I don't expect people to understand, people who have only had a "headache" from time to time literally can not relate but I will break it down for you......... Currently my head feels like it weights about 50 times putting pressure at the base of my neck making me feel like a bobble head, it feels also like someone has scalped me....shoved hot coals into my skull then put my scalp back on top too tight. It also feels like I must have a itty bitty gremlin sitting on my nose shoving an ice pick into my eye socket and then scrambling it around. I know I know....this all sounds like such crazy talk from a mad women but that is how I feel 100%. This illness is something that I will have to manage my whole life....there is NO cure and yes, I have tried everything and I have a neurologist, daily meds and the whole 9 yards. It is SO easy for me to get really down, I mean I do not even know what it is like for most people who actually wake up each morning and feel normal.?! I wake up each morning praying as hard as I can asking God for a good day. And the worst part? I have blown thru my meds so much so lately that according to insurance I should only have 2 more migraines for the next 2 weeks......as in I only have 2 pills left. I have to suffer, I can barely sleep with a migraine let alone sit at a desk staring at a computer for 8 hours a day while wanting to crawl under my desk and hide.

I am sorry to blow you all up with such a Debbie Downer of a post and yes, I am thankful to be alive for all of you eternal optimistic who always count your blessings......but it is hard, it is hard to be anything but blue sometimes. And you know what? I would let someone chop off at least 3 fingers, maybe more if they could guarantee me that for the rest of my life I would be migraine free. Sad truth.

I have talked a lot about Ellen Hopkins before and I have read everything she has written, so when I found out her new book was out....I grabbed it quick! Perfect is like all the others, she writes in a poem style and even makes her words form shapes on the page. Her style isn't hard to get into at all, it seems just perfect (no pun intended)! I still think that none of these books are quite "Teen" books if you know what I mean but that makes it all more perfect for us grown ups who love her too. I really loved this book and like always I am always sad to see the last page come, getting back into the next book I pick is always hard when they follow Ellen Hopkins! Here is a example of her writing.......

But if something more heartwrencing is what you are in the mood for then lets take a complete 180' as I tell you about Winter Garden ..............

I was listening to this book on audio on my drive to and from work and then last night when it was nearing the end I had to just sit in my car to finish this wonderful story. Like so many books I read this is based on real history, the real and very awful history of Russia in the 1930s....I felt like I learned something, something I knew nothing about and that was just a added bonus to this wonderful story. This book flashes to and from 1930s Russia and today as this wonderful story about love, family and what people do to survive unfolds! I just LOVED this book, everything about it and maybe I liked it best because I got to listen to someone with a Russian accent read the story but either way this is a book not to be missed!

The Vow

So we all know I am easy to please when it comes to movies and especially one I have looked forward to for so long! And yes....yes at first it was because of Channing Tatum but I loved this movie for the romance. Was it hard to pack so much of a true life story into a movie? yes, it seems a tad choppy but I didn't care I loved it.  I thought this was the best movie to date of "Channing's acting" and of course Rachel McAdams is always so lovely and easy to fall in love with. This movie made me think...... what would happen if this happened to me? And if I woke up and Channing Tatum was trying to convince me I was his wife....what would I do? HAHA...Kidding! If you want a easy love story....then this is for you!

A Confession....

Hi Guys! I know I have been distant lately, distracted and rather boring and unfortunately I am not able to give you much of anything but I just have to let you in on one thing........
Up until about 10 days ago Matt and I were going to relocate for Matts career to Kansas city! We are not making this move anymore and that is all I am going to say! But I wanted to share these pictures with you......we took them in December and were going to use them if/when we announced our move! At one point this was going to be on our Christmas Card, but I couldn't just delete these pictures....I think they are too cute!!

Oscar was being a butt so he missed the family picture....................And Bella my cat is too much of a celebrity in the house to be caught by the paparazzi's lense!

So I hope this little tid bit will help you all to understand that I have had a ton on my plate that I couldn't share with you and that I still have a lot on my mind that I am working thru..... with all of that combined with a new job and routine leaves me with little blogging time! I just wanted to let you all know I am not ignoring you but sometime life gets in the way....so bear with me friends!

Robert Irvine!

 So every year a local hospital in Okc puts on a "Celebrity Chef" charity night and my mom and I NEVER miss! In the past we have seen and met.....Giada, Sandra Lee, Bobby Flay, Curtis Stone and even Rachael Ray and this year was Robert Irvine!!!!

 They did this year a little different in addition to the night being a cooking demonstration we actual got to eat a 4 course meal made by the Chef with help from our local culinary school! It was very neat!

 Yes, he is very very buff as you can see below.....BUT would you believe he is small!!! I would say maybe 5'10"??.....crazy how all men on TV are small. Robert was funny, charming and we had a wonderful night!

 The charity this benefited is the heart hospital so all of the meal was "Heart Healthy" dishes and it was delish! We all had nice recipe cards that they sent home with us so we can make the recipes at home!

 This was dessert which was my favorite course......these mini chocolate souffle cupcakes were divine!

Mom and I had a great time like we do every year, now every time I see Restaurant Impossible on TV I am like "I totally saw him" which is kinda cool!

Happy Valentine's Day friends and family....I love each and everyone of you!!! I hope everyone has a Valentine's day filled with love......my Valentine for all of you......This video!!!! This literally cracks me up, because if you have a cat or any animal then this "dance move" is very familiar! I will admit this is 3 parts funny to 1 part sad, my Bella is a particularly "pukey" cat so this makes me laugh.....but I hope you enjoy it........ I'm Sexy and I know it..........

Breaking Dawn

Guys, sometimes I do the silliest things...........like after book club on Friday with my favorite ladies......I met my friend Becky and her daughter Ashton at Target for the Breaking Dawn DVD release party. (which wasn't a party at all might I add)

So.......we figured why not? Why not, see what the deal is......... You had to get to the Target at 9pm to get your movie voucher, then at 11pm they showed a special 5 minute clip.......which was a let down! 2 minutes was an advertisement, 1 minute was the actors talking about the wedding again and then finally the last 2 minutes was a never seen clip from Breaking Dawn part II........and it was a let down, unless you have read the book you would have NO idea what was happening during these 2 minutes. (It was when Alice & Jasper have left and they left Bella a clue in a book of hers) Am I still excited for Part II? Heck ya, but I was hoping for an actual preview!

Then oddly they had everyone of us line up in the deli and meat section which was FREEZING while we waited for 12:01 to get our DVDs! Chicken anyone?

Oh the things I do.......luckily I made it home at 12:30 and then last night Matt and I watched the movie, which I loved just as much as the first time! Swoon! Matt? not so much.

SO I spent my Friday night in the Target meat section.....what did you do? hehehe

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for 2 very very different things!!! The first is......drumroll please...........

Do you see this pile? Yes, cutting up my beloved store cards was like ripping my heart out but it had to be done because...........FOUR, count it 4 cards are officially paid off. And the amount is for you to guess and me to know! LOL! But let's say it is a huge deal! Hip hip hooray!

Second, I got my boys new toys the other day since I went back to work in an office today.... and I was so lucky to catch my Ralphie in action........this video is PURE joy and if only we could all be so happy......I love him so much! Enjoy.......

What are you thankful for?

I have a confession.....

I have a confession, I lost my job a few weeks ago and didn't tell you guys or many people for that matter. I was sad and that is not news you want to shout from the roof top. So for the past few weeks I have thrown myself into cleaning the house to give me a sense of productivity, worth and contribution to our small family. I have cleaned out under every sink, every closet, pantry and the garage. My life is complex right now but I want to share with you that after weeks of searching for jobs and discussions with Matt .....last Thursday I was offered a job at another Title company to come on as a Landman and work on special projects. They were so kind and what they offered me was a raise, so I couldn't ask for much more.

You know that I have worked at home for a year and my new job will be in house so after being spoiled it is hard to go back to an office. And you will all think this is stupid but I have loved spending everyday with my animals.....we have our routines and it gives me so much joy to spend time time with them. So knowing that I will be leaving them everyday again makes me so sad. You can think it is stupid but it is how I feel. But you know I have to pull on my my big girl slacks and go to work! LOL! I am very anxious starting somewhere new......my first day is Wednesday, wish me luck.

I also have so many things in my head that I swear my brain is in a vice, my life has been full of change lately and I am not good with change so it is hard. But for now my concern is on my new job, doing a great job and fitting in. More change is coming but all in due time. (NO I am not pregnant, don't even ask)

Weekend Wrap up

Hi Friends!!! It is Monday and last night was the Super Bowl (wah wah) and can I tell you how much I cared about that game .......insert cricket chirps........ BUT I will say I LOVED Madonna's half time show! I loved her concept and her stage was unreal....I mean that stage with the constant changing LCD screen?!?! I die!

But the commercials are the true reason we watch and .....I was SO disappointed.......I mean there was not one that blew me away? No exciting movie previews?  Did you love the commercials??? I guess if I had to pick one to talk about I thought this was pretty cute...........

Now moving on to our Saturday night date at the Warren Directors Suite.....we saw Big Miracle! And this movie spoke to my heart, I am my own unique person and I will say......while watching this I could literally feel my heart being filled with even more love for animals. This true story is nothing but inspirational and touching.......and for all of you who give me a hard time for "never crying" well......I proved everyone wrong with this movie. I cried out of sadness but mostly out of compassion, love, joy and for the fact that their are people in the world like Drew Barrymore's character who truly make a difference in the lives of animals. This movie is amazing.....please go see it!

Just the preview makes me well up................. did anyone else see this this weekend?

Thankful Thursday

Today I am Thankful for..........

* A new book that came out today called "All there is..." Which includes romantic stories of true love. I am in need of a feel good book!
* I am thankful that I have all of Matt's Valentine's Day DONE! Boom!
* I am thankful for great friends who lately let me monopolize the conversation with complaints!
* I am thankful for my animals, who I love more each day!
* I am thankful for the movie "Big Miracle" that comes out tomorrow, I can't wait! I heart animals.....yes, whales too!
* I am thankful for Ellen, everyday at 4 she brings laughs, dancing and funny video's into my life!
* I am always thankful for my family! And thankful to hear the wonderful things my brother is doing as he is deployed to a location! He is making a difference!

One for the Money

I saw One for the Money yesterday and I have not already read the book which is unusual but after seeing the movie I could see how this would be a great book but as for the movie................

It was cute, Katherine is cute, her "jersey" accent is funny and well, this is an overall renter. I mean I had an enjoyable time with my mom at the movies so that is always great but this movie is silly and I don't think it means to be. It is a cop/bounty hunter movie with a dose of hookers and handcuffs all put into a silly over the top Jersey backdrop! It was enjoyable but I won't be running out to watch this again on DVD, once was enough!
